The Real Housewives of Miami friend decided to sell the property back in April, nearly five years after her mom, Elsa Patton, aka Mama Elsa, died at age 84. According to Page Six, the home is located in Miami’s upscale Coconut Grove neighborhood and is listed for $4.95 million. It boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a canal-front setting, and jaw-dropping views of the water.

Marysol Patton “felt bad” about listing her late parents’ house

Marysol spoke about the listing in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, explaining why she and her family thought it was time to finally sell the property.

“I moved my mother out of the house in 2013 ’cause it had a lot of stairs in it, a lot, and she was in a wheelchair and then eventually bedridden,” she said. “We had to carry her out in a stretcher, and we never brought her back, and the house stayed empty for 12 years.”

Marysol revealed she was renting the home “off and on” because she and her brother, Thomas Anthony Jones, simply weren’t “ready to let it go.”

“I felt bad ’cause she loved the house so much… but we got to a point where we were like, ‘I think it’s time,’” she recalled. “It’s been a long time. She’s been gone for a while. Dad’s been gone. It’s just sitting there. You know, it’s an expensive property. So we decided to pull the trigger.”

Marysol’s father, Donald Patton, died in 2018.

Marysol Patton recalls her mom Elsa Patton’s dinner parties

The RHOM friend said she had fond memories of her parents’ home, where her mom would frequently host get-togethers for her friends.

“She loved to have dinner parties and invite people over for the holidays,” Marysol said. “[People] that had no home or anywhere to live or, you know, had no family. My house was always full of strangers in the holidays… Like a lot of out-of-work musicians… a bunch of characters.”

Marysol said she hoped the next owners would love the home as much as her family did, but acknowledged there was a chance that the new owners could “tear it down.”

“If they do, it is what it is,” she said.

Marysol Patton says she might be moving into a new home

Marysol and her husband, Steve McNamara, currently live in a 1930s bungalow in Coconut Grove. She showed off the “petite” abode in a 2024 video for BravoTV.com, saying the renovated property had “a lot of great charm and character.” However, it seems Marysol is ready for a home change.

“I need more space. I’m quite vocal about it with him,” she said, referring to her hubby. “We talk about adding onto [the house], but I don’t know, maybe we’ll add on, maybe we’ll move.”

Marysol said she enjoyed her and Steve’s home, as it was great for entertaining, but she wanted something with more square footage.

“It’s really teeny,” she continued. “Like, the closet space, I have a storage unit; it costs $800 a month, and my stuff is in there because it doesn’t fit in the house. And I said, ‘That’s like a little pay sub-mortgage right there.’”
