A new love triangle is quickly taking shape on Below Deck Season 12.
Not long after Solène Favreau hooked up with Kyle Stillie, Jess Theron also caught the stew’s eye on Episode 6. After all, she and Stillie, aka “Scottish,” weren’t exactly in the same boat, so to speak, when it came to their feelings for each other.
“I’m not with Scottish, but Scottish started to like me, like, a lot. And me, I’m not in the same way,” Solène explained in a confessional. “So, I need to take my distance because I don’t want to hurt him. This is my life. Always.”
While en route to a crew night out on Saint Martin between charters, she further explained to Jess, Barbara Kulaif, and Rainbeau de Roos that Stillie is constantly trying to kiss her, but she wants to be the one to “decide” if and when to show physical affection.
“She’s not feeling it anymore!” Jess responded, while Barbara chimed in that Solène already “got the ick” from Stillie.

During some post-dinner dancing, he apologized to Solène, explaining that he “can’t help but touch” her. Before long, though, she was in the bathroom making out with Jess, though.
“If you want to keep that secret, I’m OK with it,” Solène told Jess, who worried, “Stillie’s gonna f–king kill me.”
As the two exited the bathroom holding hands, however, Solène added, “I don’t care! It’s life.” So, they continued the PDA in front of everybody — including Stillie, whom they knew could see them from across the room.
How Kyle Stillie reacted to Solène Favreau and Jess Theron’s hookup
After calling Solène “a f–king devil” while talking to himself in the bathroom, Stillie insisted to chef Anthony Iracane and Damo Yorg afterward, “Life goes on, and that’s all that is. Life is now where we’re at. Women are women, man.”
Back aboard St. David, Stillie also admitted to Damo that he was “f–king pissed off” at himself for not being a better “judge of character,” pointing out that he previously made the same mistake with Barbara “Barbie” Pascual during Season 11.
“With Solene, she’s entitled to her own prerogative, but nobody likes getting rejected. It’s not– It’s not a nice thing,” he elaborated in a confessional. “I mean, I maybe don’t help because I don’t speak how I feel to people. I’m very much, I let people do what they want to do. And I did this last year with Barbie. I’m just a bit of a f–king sap. Yeah, I just feel a bit stupid. I feel really stupid.”
Later, the deckhand added, “My heart is f–king dying, doing backflips, eh.”
Jess Theron opens up about her and Solène Favreau’s relationship
After spending the night with Solène (aka Soso), Jess told Damo the next morning that they “didn’t smash,” but described their “cuddle” as being “good,” despite their height difference.
As she saw it, Stillie “might’ve been a bit too serious” about Solène, who wanted a more casual relationship.
“I know that Kyle really likes Soso,” the lead deckhand added in a producer interview. “At the time, I wasn’t thinking, and it wasn’t right. And I do feel bad. But I can’t help it. She’s so beautiful.”
Even so, Jess, who identifies as gay, later shared that she’s “always been kind of used as like an experiment for straight people.” She insisted that she wouldn’t complain, though, because “people are still kissing me.”
Solène Favreau explains her love triangle with Jess Theron and Kyle Stillie
After her first night of sharing a bunk with Jess, Solène said, “Scottish is jealous because I did not sleep with him, but I don’t care. I do what I want, with who I want, when I want, where I want.”
However, she admitted that she’d “never been in a relationship with a woman” before.
“I am, I think a ‘straight woman,’ but like this,” Solène added in a confessional, emphasizing the air quotes. “I think I just like beautiful things.”

Following another night of making out in bed with Jess, she asked Stillie if he was mad at her. She apparently had another one-on-one with him later, though. Recapping the conversation, which turned into her getting aroused when they started biting each other, for Barbara, she declared, “I’m in trouble.”
In a confessional, she continued, “It’s a triangle between Scottish, Jess, and Solene. But I really hope I don’t have to choose.” As Solène added in French, “It’s a mess.”
