A man shot several times at a Texas salon has died, following what police said was a domestic-related incident that ended with the shooter taking her own life.
Names of the man and woman found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at a Texas hair salon have not yet been released.
According to the Arlington Police Department, a 37-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were both shot Friday, shortly after 10 a.m., at a hair salon in the 7800 block of S. Cooper Street.
Witnesses told police that the woman entered the salon and shot the man, who was a customer at the time, multiple times. When police arrived at the scene, they saw the woman attempting to flee.
Upon seeing law enforcement, she went back inside the salon and reportedly shot herself.
There were several people in the salon during the deadly shooting, but no additional injuries were reported.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her self-inflicted injuries.
During the investigation, police learned that the victim and suspect were previously involved in a romantic relationship. A motive has not been determined at this time.
NBC 5’s Alicia Barrera reported that a tenant witnessed the woman shooting the man multiple times. The tenant said the victim was getting his hair cut at the time and was a regular customer of the establishment.
Mario Ibarra, a renter at the shopping strip, arrived after the incident to find a parking lot covered in crime scene tape and several people crying on the sidewalks.
“They seem pretty shaken up, obviously,” Ibarra said.
This is an open and ongoing investigation.
