Scheana Shay is surfing a wave of emotions.
Before unleashing her first memoir, the Vanderpump Rules alum gave fans a little taste of what the tell-all book would deliver. Scheana spoke about the project in the July 3 episode of her Scheananigans podcast, explaining why the business move was both scary and exciting.
“I talk about the deepest, darkest things that have happened in my life,” she said. “All of the skeletons in the closet are now in the book for your entertainment and hopefully for you to be able to relate to.”
Scheana Shay hopes her upcoming memoir will help others
Although it’s not easy being so vulnerable, Scheana said she wanted her memoir, My Good Side, to help and potentially inspire others who are also navigating hardships.
“I know by telling my story and what I’ve gone through — and I’m still going through and working on — I know I’m not alone,” she continued. “And I want you guys to know that you’re not alone… If I could do this in front of the entire world, hopefully, you can get through it in the privacy of your own home and in your small inner circle.”
How Scheana Shay’s book release will impact her daughter, Summer Moon
My Good Side is set to release on July 22 and will be supported by a United States book tour. The trek will kick off on July 21 in New York City and will include stops in Chicago, Austin, Atlanta, and Cincinnati before concluding August 7 in Philadelphia.
Scheana said she was pumped for the book tour, but was a bit “nervous” about spending time away from Summer Moon Honey Davies, the 4-year-old daughter she shares with her husband, Brock Davies.
“I have always wanted to go on a tour, whether it’s a book tour, a music tour, a podcast tour, whatever it is, all the things, I’ve always wanted to tour,” she said. “I’m nervous. I am going to be away from my daughter for a long time. I’m just nervous for all the things.”
Scheana Shay reveals her husband, Brock Davies, had an affair
In the weeks leading up to My Good Side’s release, several outlets shared numerous shocking excerpts. Two of the most-talked-about portions addressed Scheana’s romantic life, including her affair with Eddie Cibrian, and Brock’s infidelity. The latter came as a surprise to many Bravo fans, as Scheana never publicly addressed the incident before writing My Good Side.

According to an excerpt shared by Glamour, Brock cheated on Scheana in 2020 while she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer Moon. The former SURver said Brock didn’t confess to the affair until after they filmed Vanderpump Rules Season 10, which documented one of the biggest cheating scandals in Bravo history.
“Brock said that with all of the fake news being published, he was afraid that something that actually was true might surface, and it was best that I heard it directly from him,” Scheana recalled in her memoir. “My whole body froze, and I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer.”
Scheana Shay says Brock Davies vowed to “never betray [her] again”
Scheana said Brock admitted he “was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else.”
“I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed,” she continued. “There was this deep fury bubbling inside of me, and I couldn’t release it. If I screamed, I could wake up my daughter. Our daughter. His baby, whom I’d been carrying while he was in bed with another woman. I stood up and started pacing back and forth, fuming, and feeling like I might throw up.”
Scheana said Brock subsequently wrote her a letter that included details about the affair, which he described as “purely physical” and “never emotional.”
“He said he realized he was throwing his second chance at a family away by stepping out and swore to himself that he would never betray me again,” Scheana recalled. “Once I’d read [the letter], that was more than enough. I told him to immediately toss it into the fire. I never wanted to set eyes on those words again.”
