Rainbeau de Roos Has Shocking Hot Mic Moment on Below Deck

Rainbeau de Roos and Solène Favreau’s rocky work relationship just plunged underwater on Below Deck, resulting in the franchise’s latest hot mic moment.

Amid long-brewing frustrations surrounding Solène’s attitude and work ethic on St. David, second stew Rainbeau finally asked her to have a “heart to heart” to figure out “what’s actually going on,” while the crew enjoyed a couple days off at a villa on Sint Maarten during Season 12, Episode 8.

Despite agreeing to chat, Solène seemed unwilling to accept her “olive branch,” however, and Rainbeau appeared to end their brief one-on-one by walking off, as a hot mic picked up the audio of her ranting to herself about the stew.

“You lazy, wannabe famous, only [here to be] on TV, dumb [bleep]. Can’t even do the f–king job,” Rainbeau vented, presumably out of Solène’s earshot.

As she added in a confessional, “Who do you think you are? Like, do you have no self-awareness? … You’re gonna be a bitch, I’m gonna be a bitch right back. I’m at the point where it’s like I just don’t care anymore. So, no, f–k you.”

What led to Rainbeau de Roos’ hot mic moment about Solène Favreau

At a group dinner earlier in the evening, the two had argued about Rainbeau asking Solène to scrub toilets on the previous charter, after already giving her permission to go to bed. They each recalled different versions of events, though, and Solène was particularly offended that Rainbeau accused her of “lying” in front of their fellow yachties.

During their one-on-one, Rainbeau shared that she felt “sad” that the stew had labeled the interaction her low point of the charter, but Solène appeared unmoved.

“I’m really, really trying to be super forgiving,” Rainbeau added. “I give you 10 minutes here, extra, like, sleep at night. And in yachting that’s a big deal. I’m trying to be as nice as possible and as accommodating as possible. And I feel like it’s not really appreciated.”

Solène, for her part, responded by imitating her superior and accusing her of having an “attitude” when she speaks to her. She also pushed back on Rainbeau’s supposed belief that she didn’t care about her job, contending that — even if she’s “not very happy” with her assigned tasks — she completes them anyway.

Rainbeau, meanwhile, said little more than, “OK,” before exiting the conversation and launching into her hot mic tirade.

Rainbeau de Roos opens up about childhood “trauma”

Earlier, Rainbeau had excused herself from dinner to take a breather amid the Solène drama. In a confessional, she tearfully opened up about why she tends to avoid “turmoil” at all costs.

“I feel like other girls take some kind of, like, weird pleasure out of making other girls feel this way,” she said. “If I didn’t, like, have deep childhood emotional trauma, like, I probably wouldn’t even care. But, like, I feel like I just, like, grew up in a household where feelings weren’t a thing.”

Rainbeau continued, “I can wake up in the morning, even today, call my mom and tell her, like, ‘Hey, I’m having a really bad day, I have so much anxiety, like, I can’t breathe.’ And she will look at me and tell me, like, ‘What am I supposed to do about it?'”

She concluded, “So, yeah. I just think that’s where the hurt comes from.”

How Fraser Olender supported Rainbeau de Roos

Below Deck‘s July 21 episode picked back up with Rainbeau still feeling like she was “drowning” from Solène and fellow stew Barbara Kulaif’s lack of “communication and support.”

“Up until this point, I’ve been trying to be the best teammate I can, not sharing how actually overwhelmed I am and the lack of work that’s actually getting done,” she explained in a confessional. “I just feel like nobody has my back.”

After Rainbeau described her frustrations to Fraser Olender, the chief stew assured her, “I am dealing with it; I want you to trust me with that.”

Fraser sat down with Rainbeau again later on, and added, “Honey, it really killed me earlier because I saw you emotional and I won’t have it anymore.” He also insisted she not apologize to him for being so candid about the drama.

“You’re working so hard, and I’m so behind you,” Fraser continued. “You being second means you’ve gotta put up with a lack of initiative. It’s not on us to get frustrated. But I wanna know when we’ve got pushback. I wanna know when there’s things I can deal with because you are my backbone. And it’s about how we can run our boat better.”
