EVERETT, Wash. (TCN) — A 39-year-old former pub owner will spend over a century behind bars for raping multiple victims for decades.
Per a news release from the Everett Police Department, Christian Sayre was sentenced on July 21 to 109 years in prison after he was convicted of 16 felony charges, including multiple counts of rape and indecent liberties involving both adult and minor victims. He also faces sexual assault charges out of Hillsboro County, Oregon.
Police began investigating allegations against Sayre in September 2021 after authorities linked him to a 2020 sexual assault case through DNA evidence. Officers reportedly “uncovered dozens of potential victims and a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior stretching back over two decades.”
According to an earlier release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Sayre, who owned the Anchor Pub, allegedly assaulted both male and female victims who reported going to his pub, “having a few drinks, and then blacking out.” After waking up, the victims reportedly believed they had been sexually assaulted.
During the investigation, police said they discovered “a notebook listing over 30 women, along with hard drives containing child pornography.” Some of the women from the notebook reportedly came forward about the assaults, “some dating as far back as 2001.”
Everett Police Chief John DeRousse said, “This was one of the most complex and disturbing cases our department has handled, and I want to commend our entire team, along with our regional partners, for their exceptional professionalism and dedication. Above all, I want to thank the survivors for their courage.”
