2 Men Charged in Drug Overdose Deaths of Kansas City Chiefs Fans Due in Court – Crime Online

Two men charged with murder in the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans — who died of drug overdoses — are set to appear in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.

Jordan Willis and Ivory Carson are charged with supplying the drugs that killed Ricky Johnson, 38; David Harrington, 37; and Clayton McGeeney, 36, as CrimeOnline reported. The three men were found dead in Willis’ backyard on January 9, 2024, after they had gathered at the home to watch a football game.

Autopsies determined that they “all died of fentanyl and cocaine combined toxicity,” court records showed.

Willis told investigators that the men came over to watch the football game on January 7 and that they were drinking and smoking marijuana during the game. At some point, he said, he thought they left, but apparently, they had gone into the backyard of the home, where they died.

Willis and Carson have pleaded not guilty.

Thursday’s hearing is to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial, Fox News reported.

Willis was released earlier on bond, while Carson remains behind bars.
