Anger and hurt can be powerful motivators—as Drew Sidora found out while she recorded her long-awaited studio album. She and Ralph Pittman began the process of ending their marriage in February 2023, and Drew used her feelings at that time as the subject for her new music. However, as Ralph revealed in Peacock’s extended version of Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 reunion, the songs caught him off guard.

“I didn’t expect it to be an album about me,” Ralph admitted to Drew’s producer, Dennis McKinley, during the extended episode, which is now streaming.
Dennis then revealed even more on the surprising lengths Drew went to in order to motivate herself.
“She brought a picture to the studio of your face, and put it in the booth,” Dennis said. “Don’t take it personal, man.”
Ralph also asked Dennis during the episode what it was like to work as a music producer for Drew.
“Drew is talented, man,” Dennis replied. “You know, that’s for sure.”

How Drew Sidora’s divorce from Ralph Pittman inspired her music
It’s not the first time Drew has used Ralph has a motivator to her singing. She performed her single “Throw Us Away” in front of him during Part 2 of the RHOA Season 15 reunion. The couple has been vocal about the messiness of their divorce, with Drew calling it a “s—tshow,” and a “nightmare.”
“Was there ever love? Was there ever a friendship? I just feel like we were better than this,” she lamented in the April 20, 2024 episode. “I want to hope that we can just be friends one day—but today is not the day.”
Drew’s single “Throw Us Away” didn’t make the cut on her new album I Did It To Me, but her ex and divorce were all over the music and its themes.
As Dennis said when he announced news of the album’s release in October 2024, the vibe was “all pain.”
I Did It To Me includes 11 songs, with some titles presumably referencing Ralph and her divorce, including “Better On My Own,” “Single Again,” and “Delulu.”
Why Drew Sidora and Dennis McKinley’s business relationship caused issues with Porsha Williams
The unexpected partnership between Drew and Dennis caused problems between Drew and Dennis’ ex-fiancee, Porsha Williams. Porsha and Drew’s beef played out on RHOA Season 16, when Porsha accused Drew of trying to film with Dennis behind her back. But Drew defended her relationship with Dennis as only business.
“Where the cameras catch me, they catch me. If they catch me in the studio, great. Dennis and I weren’t ever getting together to diminish you, [or] disrespect you, so that was not true,” Drew said during Part 1 of the RHOA reunion. She later added, “This is the business that I operate in. So there’s no mistake. This wasn’t just a homie hookup. We actually conducted real business.”

As for her relationship with Dennis, Porsha made it clear that he’s still an important part of her life, despite the tensions with her and Drew over the season.
“You know what? Dennis is just a jewel,” Porsha stated on the July 13 episode. “That is why I was so protective of our relationship.”
