Shakir Moss (Shelby County Sheriff’s Office).
A Tennessee man was thrown behind bars Sunday for attempting to gun down a father who was picking up his kids from a home where the suspect’s friend lived with the children’s mother — allegedly telling the victim, “I got a couple bodies under my name. I will kill you,” following a dispute, cops say.
Shakir Moss, 24, was charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder for the April 23 incident, which unfolded at a home on West Ball Road in South Memphis, according to court records.

Moss’ charging documents, obtained by local CBS affiliate WREG, detail how he allegedly pulled out a gun and blasted multiple rounds at the dad after being called over from a house next door. Moss’ friend reportedly lived with the mother of the victim’s children and allegedly challenged the man to a fist fight after he arrived to get the kids and started arguing with the mom, according to police.
The father accepted, according to WREG, which prompted the friend to call over two men from the house next door — one being Moss, cops say.
Moss allegedly walked over with a handgun and issued the threat on the dad’s life. The victim put his children in their car and tried leaving, but Moss opened fire and struck the vehicle at least once, according to police.
Shelby County court records show that Moss has at least five active or open cases in the system as of Monday. He was being held on a $2,025,000 bond and is due in court on Tuesday.
