Emily Simpson has been in the process of transforming her California home, which she shares with her husband, Shane Simpson, and their kids for quite some time.

The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has already renovated a family room and hangout room for her three kids, as well as her kitchen (more on that down below). But, in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, Emily admitted that the renovations are far from over. “Oh my gosh, I’ve been renovating this house for three years now,” she admitted. “And it’s a ton of money and time.”
But, she has one room left for the renovation process — her primary bathroom, which she is really ready to re-do. “The one room I have left in this entire house is the primary bathroom, and it’s huge — but it looks like The Sopranos,” she said. “It’s just dark and has columns and, I mean, the house was built in ’98 and it hasn’t been updated, so it’s like I don’t even want to hang anything nice in there, or like, even make it pretty cause it’s so outdated.”
However, she’s looking forward to transforming it when she’s ready. “But that’s the next,” she noted. “I’m gonna do that soon.”

Emily showed off her kitchen and family room renovations with The Daily Dish in November 2024. “We renovated most of the downstairs: the kitchen is remodeled, the flooring is all new,” she explained via email at the time.
“We knocked out a wall in the kitchen area and [added] a large tri-fold cantina door,” she continued. “One fireplace was completely renovated, while a second fireplace was completely torn out and renovated into a new built-in. A lot of things such as lighting, ceilings, etc. were renovated downstairs as well.”Â
But she already has a favorite room in her house. “My favorite room in the house is the kitchen,” she explained at the time. “It’s so bright and sleek and modern now. It makes me feel happy! I love to make really big colorful flower arrangements for the new countertop.”

Emily admitted to The Daily Dish that there’s a reason why her renovations have taken years to complete. “I have to take breaks in between every major project because it’s so much time and energy, and you can’t use that part of the house, and it’s dusty, and it’s dirty,” she explained.

“And there’s contractors coming in every day, and so I’m — then I need a break,” she said with a laugh. “So, then I have to like, build myself up, cause I’m like, ‘Ugh, we have to go through this again.'”
