Aesha Scott is the “luckiest girl alive” after her fiancé, Scott Dobson, proposed to her in New Zealand in May 2024. The Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew recently spoke with The Daily Dish, where she dished on her upcoming wedding and her stunning engagement ring from her fiancé.
“Aren’t I the luckiest girl alive?!” she said of her ring, designed by New Zealand-based designer Layla Kaisi. “I’ve been a fan of her rings for a while, and it’s a bonus that she’s a Kiwi designer.”
Aesha continued, noting that Scott had gifted her a Layla Kaisi ring during his visit to the yacht in Below Deck Down Under Season 2, which she loved. “So he knew if he went to her to design it, it would be a winner,” she revealed.
Scott even had firsthand experience with designing the engagement ring for Aesha. “They worked together to come up with it, and because I’m super sentimental, Scott really wanted to make sure it had a lot of meaning behind it,” she admitted.

The ring features a “round cut diamond center stone set with six pointed claws with a medley of seven accent diamonds,” according to the designer. “The central diamond represents Aesha herself and how she’s been molded and surrounded by her family, supporting her to grow into the woman she is today.”
“Scott is represented by the 18-carat yellow gold band that the design is set into, which embodies his commitment to being a positive catalyst in Aesha’s family story forever on,” Layla said.

Scott combined Aesha’s love of her family and love of nostalgia into her engagement ring. “I am very very close with my family. They are my everything, so he made it so there was one stone for each member of my family (with a slightly different colored stone to represent my late brother, I know, so lovely),” she told The Daily Dish.Â
The ring even represents Scott and Aesha’s bond, as she continues to work away from him as a yachtie. “And then on the inside of the band is a small diamond to represent him because he knows his love language is touch and that he will be touching me wherever I go,” she concluded.

Aesha showed off her engagement ring during Below Deck Med Season 10, Episode 1. “Yes, I’m engaged,” she said, showing off her ring in the premiere episode, noting that she was “very excited” about walking down the aisle.

“I am so grateful that I have Scott, because there are not many men that could handle me,” she noted.

Aesha also admitted to The Daily Dish that she is very excited for their upcoming wedding, which will happen in New Zealand in March 2026, especially since all of their loved ones will be in the same place. “Apart from the obvious of marrying my love, I’m most excited for all of my worlds to collide!” she explained.

“My friends that are coming from overseas, people I have bonded with over all my years of travel and doing the show, are such a huge part of my life, but have never seen my hometown or met my family,” she continued. “The thought of walking down the aisle and looking up and seeing them in my home space just makes me want to cry tears of joy instantly!! So, so special, and I feel so grateful so many people are sacrificing so much time and money to travel over for our celebration.”
