Ala. man charged with capital murder for allegedly killing grandparents with sword

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TCN) — Police arrested a 21-year-old man after he allegedly admitted to killing his grandparents with a sword and knife last week.

According to WHNT-TV, on Feb. 21 at 10:30 p.m., Huntsville Police Department officers went to a home on the 12000 block of Carriage Court, where they found Xavier Cole sitting in a car. Cole reportedly told officers he killed his grandparents with a sword and knife inside their home, so police entered the residence and located 67-year-old Antoinette Skaggs and 69-year-old Kenneth Skaggs deceased.

Officials from the Madison County Coroner’s Office arrived at home and determined both victims died from foul play. Police arrested Cole on two counts of capital murder.

Madison County Jail records show Cole was booked in the early hours of Feb. 22 and is being held without bond.
