Alabama Man Charged With Murder After Father’s Bones Found in Backyard Garden – Crime Online

An Alabama man has been charged with the murder of his father after investigators found the man’s bones scattered in an area “made to look like a garden” in his son’s backyard.

Donald Cash, 52, was last seen on September 26 working on a truck at his home in Wylam, Alabama, Law&Crime reported. The truck was later found abandoned 10 miles away.

Ledarius “Tre” Cash, 30, was arrested twice before in connection with his father’s disappearance, first just three days after he vanished when he was charged with receiving stolen property — two handguns — and released on bond the same day.

Then came the discovery of the bones in his backyard. A cadaver dog sniffed out the remains, covered by “a fresh pile of compost/topsoil,” in November, and a coroner and medical examiner identified them as human. Ledarius Cash was charged at the time with abuse of a corpse. He was given a $250,000 bond and was out of jail again in days.

Last week, however, the Jefferson County Coroner positively identified the remains as Donald Cash, and his son was arrested on Friday. This time, he has no bond.

Birmingham Police say Ledarius Cash shot and killed his father, likely about the day he disappeared.
