FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested two teen suspects, including the victim’s girlfriend, in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, on the night of June 24, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on First Neck Road near Johnsonville. Responding deputies found the victim, later identified as 16-year-old Trey Wright, on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased.
Investigators identified 19-year-old Devan Raper as the primary suspect and allege he shot the victim following a verbal dispute. Officials arrested him on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
In an updated release, the sheriff’s office announced that they arrested another suspect in the case, 17-year-old Gianna Kistenmacher. Investigators allege she drove Raper to the crime scene knowing he was armed “and that there would be a confrontation for violence likely to lead to death based on statements made in her presence.”
Authorities arrested Kistenmacher on a charge of accessory before the fact of a felony.
According to WBTW-TV, a close friend said Kistenmacher was Wright’s girlfriend. The news sources reports that Wright and Raper allegedly argued over a girl before the shooting.
