During the group reading, which took place during the show’s fourth episode, a medium claimed that someone they believed to be Amir’s late wife, Lauren, had come through with messages for the couple (more on that below). In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, Amir and Natasha reflected on the experience, including how it felt to relive the session when the scene aired.

“It was, in the moment, sort of like a bit of a surprise,” Amir shared, noting that he had to take a “deep breath” when he realized what was happening. “Rewatching it was emotional. I got chills just watching it and seeing what transpired.”

He continued, “In the moment, it’s happening so fast, and you’re inundated with feelings. So much was going on during that scene.”

Natasha, for her part, revealed that connecting with Amir’s first wife, who died unexpectedly amid a cancer battle, actually helped her achieve some closure.

“I’ve always had questions,” she explained. “You just kind of go on with your everyday life, because you can’t dwell on like, ‘Oh, I wonder how she feels about this and that.’ But just to hear that she does like me and is watching over us, it was very nice to hear. I think I just needed to hear that.”

What the medium told Amir and Natasha on The Valley: Persian Style

During the session in Palm Springs, the medium, Tiffany, described the presence of a “younger female” who had an “unexpected” and “sudden passing.” She added that the woman was also “acknowledging a wedding,” before asking Amir if it could be his wife.

“When she comes through, she just says, she goes, ‘You need to know how much I love you. And I’m so sorry. … I didn’t mean to go when I did,'” the medium said as several cast members dabbed tears from their eyes.

Turning to Natsha, Tiffany continued, “She loves you. And she goes, ‘You’re such a good fit for him.'”

Referencing an image of a giraffe, the medium told them that Lauren was also “acknowledging she plays with” Amir and Natasha’s three children.

How the medium’s reading impacted Amir and Natasha’s relationship

Afterward, in Episode 5 of The Valley: Persian Style, Amir and Natasha’s castmates were eager to get their takes on the emotional reading.

“I wanted him to, like, experience that, but it was really hard,” Natasha tearfully admitted, away from Amir. “Just to hear that she, you know, likes me for him … it just made me feel, like, good that she’s around and, like, watching after him.”

She elaborated in a confessional, “Seeing Amir connect with Lauren through the medium, it’s hard for me. I have questions too, and, like I have feelings about this. But I don’t know how to express that.”

Natasha further opened up to Reza Farahan and Mercedeh Javid about how she was “sure” that Amir was still in love with his late wife, sharing that they were “trying to get pregnant” before Lauren died. She added, “I’m always thinking that I’m the second option.”

Amir, meanwhile, confirmed to Greg Haroutunian and Reza Jackson that Natasha had never asked him if he was still in love with Lauren.

“I love her, yeah,” Amir said. “I can’t be in love with her. She’s not here. But the memory of her is, you know, is part of me.”

He also confided in the pair that he was unsure how to handle the issue with Natasha: “This wasn’t just about me. I want to know more about how she feels about it, or how involved she wants to be. She’s supportive, but that’s different than being a part of it. I think a part of me is scared to ask that question because I don’t want it to be bad.”

As Amir concluded in a confessional, “Natasha is hard to read. She’s very good at keeping things internal.”

As the couple navigates the sensitive subject on The Valley: Persian Style, don’t miss the details Amir previously shared about his first wife’s death.
