Andy Cohen officially entered the chat about the infamous plane incident from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Season 6 with a demand for answers.
Because there was no footage of what happened between Meredith Marks and Britani Bateman mid-flight, Andy asked the “number one question” on viewers’ minds, during Part 2 of the RHOSLC reunion: “Why didn’t anyone record on the plane? Why didn’t anyone pick up their phone?”
Heather Gay was the first to chime in and say that she had “so many theories” on the matter, before referencing a backstage conversation she’d had with Whitney Rose earlier that morning.
“She was like, ‘My biggest regret is not picking up my phone and recording it,'” Heather recalled. “And I thought — just being honest — I thought, what kind of piece of s–t person would we be to record what was happening and, like, film it, because this is entertaining?”
She continued, “It was what we’ve seen from Meredith before. We were just tolerating it to get home, because we knew why she was mad. … But it shifted in the flight. It did.”

The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host went on to read another viewer-submitted question, pointing out how Heather did previously use her cell phone to document the immediate aftermath of Lisa Barlow losing her $60,000 ring in a Palm Springs bathroom during Season 4.
Heather responded by pointing out that if she — or anyone — had pulled out their phone and started recording Meredith, it would have only exacerbated the already tense situation. She referenced how upset Meredith got when she previously suspected Britani was recording the cast in a Sprinter van during a Season 5 cast trip, for example.
“We don’t really record each other,” Heather declared.
Why the RHOSLC cast initially sided with Meredith Marks on the airplane
Heather explained that the cast had initially “understood” why Meredith was upset on the return flight from their Below Deck Down Under charter. After all, Britani had dropped a bombshell about a TikTok that claimed Seth Marks had allegedly cheated on Meredith.
“We were on your side,” Heather told Meredith during the reunion. “I don’t know at what point it tipped.”
Meredith, meanwhile, denied Heather’s claim, firing back that she “didn’t have support” from her at their last breakfast on the yacht, before they’d even boarded the airplane.
How the RHOSLC plane incident impacted Meredith Marks and Heather Gay’s friendship
Needless to say, without any in-flight footage, the women still could not reach an agreement about exactly what happened off camera.
So, Heather called out Meredith’s “ability to recall specific information,” including from their BDDU breakfast, when it seemed to “serve” her narrative, while simultaneously not remembering any of the details that she and the other ladies shared from their experience on the airplane.
As the heated debate raged on, Meredith told Andy, “I’m not gonna talk over [Heather]. She screeched at me for two months.”
Heather’s response? “Screeched at you for two months? F–k you. F–k you for saying that. I’ve never screeched at you. … Our friendship is over, from this moment on. Buckle up, Meredith. It’s not gonna be a fun ride.”
Meredith, for her part, simply replied, “I can’t,” before adding, “That’s very transparent of you.”
She also insisted that Heather did not have her back, as she had claimed, and fired back that she was actually the one who had “backed” her castmate on “everything,” over the years.
