Andy Cohen has some thoughts about Bronwyn Newport’s journey on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6. Bronwyn introduced viewers to her parents, giving a deeper look into her life as a caretaker for them, on a recent episode of RHOSLC.
Andy and Bronwyn touched on her parents when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday, Sept. 23. He noted, during the WWHL After Show, that it is “nice and interesting seeing your mom this season.”
“I think people will understand your journey and where you come from,” Andy noted of Bronwyn’s mom. “And look, all of our emotional baggage can come back to our parents.”
From there, Bronwyn added, “I love and respect my mom, but when you see the way that she and I speak to each other, and maybe what we’ve been through, I think you’re right. You’ll understand me a lot better when you see the ups and downs of that.”
Bronwyn Newport opens up about her relationship with her mom
Bronwyn’s mom, Muzzy, appeared on RHOSLC Season 6, Episode 3, where she had a conversation with her at her home. She admitted that she was in the process of moving Muzzy into her house in Utah full-time from California, after moving her dad into a facility amid his battle with Alzheimer’s.
“My mom is going back and forth to Northern California and is kind of sorting through a very epic process of selling and going through my childhood home,” Bronwyn explained during a confessional.

Bronwyn continued, explaining that her dad’s battle had been so tough for her; she doesn’t understand how hard it’s been for her mom. “My mom is his partner. My mom’s his best friend. My mom’s his wife. I can’t imagine what that feels like for her,” she said.
But, during this conversation, Bronwyn became a little unhappy with how her mom pointed out that she needed the support of her husband, Todd Bradley, to achieve success in life. “Sadly, this is not the first snide comment my mom has made about me,” Bronwyn noted during the confessional. “I think I still really need approval from her. I would love for her to approve of me and adore me and be proud of me, but I also wish that I didn’t.”
Bronwyn Newport shares insight into her relationship with her late dad
Brownyn took to Instagram on Sept. 30, where she posted a series of photos of her dad, taken before he passed away in June. “Tonight you’ll meet my mom as we talk about my dad’s battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia,” she wrote in the caption of the post. “Watching this back is painful, especially since he passed shortly after filming. You’ll see a bit more of him and my mom in upcoming episodes, and while it’s tender for me, I know having the footage of him will be something I cherish forever.”
She continued, “My dad was a proud Welshman who moved to the US who finished his bachelors, then masters and PHD in chemical engineering. He worked for Chevron for almost four decades, raised four children, and was the most wonderful grandfather to 16. My dad was funny, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. He always said no problem was too big to solve and no problem to figure out more important than a person to be loved. Even though his math tutoring sessions with me in high school didn’t feel that way! “

She concluded, “He loved my daughter and dogs so much and I always felt so proud when my quick comebacks or puns made him laugh. No one loved a dessert more than him! He taught me to value continually evolving and learning how to know how to have a good time. He spent his retirement serving at the Oakland Temple and refereeing youth soccer. He loved my mom through their entire 51 year marriage and she was there for him every step of his illness.”
