Bronwyn Newport’s refreshingly honest confession about a $4 million diamond necklace on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has earned widespread praise — including from Andy Cohen.
When Bronwyn stopped by the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Clubhouse on Sept. 23, Andy applauded the RHOSLC ‘Wife for owning up to “lying” about husband Todd Bradley actually purchasing the 170-carat piece for her tenth wedding anniversary gift.
“I loved what you said about that. I thought it was really great. I thought you totally owned it,” Andy told Bronwyn on WWHL. “We rarely hear someone saying, ‘You know what? I was trying to look cool.’ … Much props for that.”
Bronwyn’s response? “I do wanna look cool. Who doesn’t? Yeah.”
Fellow WWHL guest, actor Madelaine Petsch, also commended Bronwyn, saying, “I am all for people coming forward after lying. I think that that’s wonderful, truly.”
Meanwhile, Andy also pointed out how “long-suffering” Todd had similarly set himself apart from other Bravoleb spouses by hanging out backstage during the live taping: “Most Househusbands, they want to be in that front row. Much respect for Todd, for staying out of the fray tonight.”

Later, an audience member asked Bronwyn if she and Todd had discussed the decision surrounding the anniversary necklace.
“Todd and I did have a conversation,” Bronwyn answered. “Todd was just not a big fan of how ostentatious that necklace looked; that’s not Todd’s style.”

Since they didn’t end up buying the Norman Silverman diamond stunner, the fan also wanted to know what he did gift her to mark their marital milestone, instead.
“I actually did get a very similar necklace, just not from the PR person who worked for that jeweler,” Bronwyn added.

Cast speculation about whether or not Bronwyn actually owned the necklace she showed off on RHOSLC Season 5, came to a head on that season’s reunion when frenemy Lisa Barlow claimed to have insider knowledge on the matter.
So, when Bronwyn dropped a bombshell about Lisa’s alleged legal issues on the Season 6 premiere’s RV camping trip, Heather Gay could only assume she was acting in “retaliation” after she got “caught red-handed lying about a $4 million necklace” that she “didn’t own.”

That’s when Bronwyn took accountability for what really happened behind the scenes — and why she misled the friend group as a RHOSLC newbie.
“It is my fault. I should not have tried to be cutesy about it,” Bronwyn said on the Sept. 16 episode, referencing her explanation at the reunion four months earlier. “I shouldn’t have said it that way. I shouldn’t’ve. I was trying to protect myself and the jeweler, and it came out sounding like a lie. And that’s bad on me.”
In a confessional, Bronwyn offered a producer even more intel on the necklace controversy.
“I knew I wasn’t gonna buy this necklace,” she admitted. “But I made the girls believe that I had it by saying, ‘When I wear it, you’ll see it,’ thinking that I would get a different version, and they wouldn’t notice the difference. That is, in effect, lying, and that’s wrong.”
In a moment of self-reflection, Bronwyn continued, “How did that become more important to me than my integrity or the importance of Todd and I’s anniversary or being tough enough to not give a damn what everyone else thinks? Like, I really acted so immature in that moment, to be cool.”
