It takes a lot to shock Andy Cohen these days, but he admitted to being “so surprised” by Janet and Jason Caperna, and one particular moment of The Valley Season 2.
The moment concerned a rumor first spread on camera by Kristen Doute in Episode 7 about Jason taking off his wedding ring at times. So why was Andy shocked? Because Jason and Janet then did something “weeks after [he] thought this [rumor] had been put to bed.”
“Janet, you and Jason going to get the ring tattoos — to debunk a rumor you said you didn’t care about,” Andy specified during Part 3 of the reunion.
Janet and Jason went to a tattoo parlor in Episode 14, and each had a wedding band tattooed onto their ring fingers.
“Jason and I have talked about this ring rumor often,” Janet said at the time. “You know, I think I made a joke to Jason like, ‘You should just get your ring tattoed on, and then nobody will have anything to say, ever. It just always will be there.’”
But Janet denied that the tattoos were to “debunk” the rumor during the August 12 reunion episode.
“It was also like, once this is out, [it] feels like a can of worms. You can’t put it back,” she added of the rumors.
She said that a tattoo for Jason was already in motion before the rumors started, and that she’d always “wanted him to get one.”
“It felt like kind of a fun excuse to make light of it,” she said at the reunion. “Make fun of ourselves. Make fun of the situation. I’ve kind of always wanted a wedding band tattoo. I thought it was cool. So, we had a day of it.”

Although Kristen was the one who dropped the bombshell rumor about Jason removing his wedding ring while cameras were rolling, she explained that Jasmine Goode was the original source of the rumor. Jasmine shared during The Valley Season 2 After Show that she first heard the allegation at a birthday party three years ago from a group that Jason “wasn’t friends with anymore, at the moment.”
Andy addressed the rumor with Jasmine at the reunion.
“Jason thinks you made up the ring rumor. How did you feel [to be] accused of this by someone you were such pals with?” he asked in the August 12 episode.
“I was just hurt by the fact that you thought that I would really go out of my way to make up a rumor about you taking off your ring,” Jasmine told Jason, and added, “And maybe it was my fault for speaking on it when I was in frustration with Janet, but, I didn’t make this up and I didn’t lie.”
Janet shared during the reunion that there was a reason she and Jason first dismissed the ring rumor at Brittany Cartwright’s shark party.
“At first it’s like, I’m laughing this off because I know it’s not true,” Janet said, and explained later, “It was a joke that like, Jason and I have a pretty calm, boring marriage in that sense.”
But Janet added that it made her question her already damaged friendship with Kristen.

“It also made me realize like, ‘Oh, our friendship is not getting to a better place.’ Like that’s not going to help us get to a peaceful place this summer. And I was bummed about that,” Janet admitted.
Janet also wanted an apology from Kristen at the reunion for repeating the rumor.
“This is going to be out there publicly. People are going to be questioning his character. You have to own up to that,” Janet told her, but Kristen responded, “People don’t care. The only people that perpetuated this the whole summer long were you two.”
Jason Caperna shares new details on his ring tattoo
Jason showed off his talked-about tattoo (a thin, black line around his left ring finger) to Brock Davies during the After Show.
“I could just wake up every morning and put a pen on my finger. It would be the same thing,” Jason joked in the video above, when describing his and Janet’s matching tattoos.
“So, they gave me the dark one and Janet has like a skin-colored one that’s just like a tan line.”

Although Janet showed off her tattoo on the After Show, Michelle Saniei was unable to see it.
“Janet’s is really fading,” Jason explained.
After Janet joked during the season about tracking her husband with an AirTag, producers asked her if she’d stopped that now that Jason has a wedding ring tattoo.
“I don’t need a location. He’s home 99 percent of the time. He can go to a strip club. He can do whatever he wants,” Janet replied. “Jason’s very anti-cheating. Very, very. He would never. I trust him fully, so I don’t need his location. I know where he is at all times because he doesn’t lie.”
