Andy Cohen Reveals Why He’s “Grateful” for His Kids: Update

Andy Cohen never misses the chance to gush about his kids. In fact, on the Sept. 1 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen he did just that.  In that episode, Andy celebrated World Gratitude Day with a “gratitude check” that found him opening up about his life as a dad to his 6-year-old son, Benjamin Cohen, and daughter, 3-year-old Lucy Cohen.

Said Andy, “I am grateful for my children, and I am grateful for their desire to hold my hands and give me lots of hugs.”

The Cohen family doesn’t just consist of Andy and his two kids, but is also filled with extended family members. And, as it turns out, he even has one person to thank for his kids having the best chili around. Andy cited Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon for cooking up “the most unbelievable chili” for his family over the summer. He made this reveal during the Oct. 2 WWHL in which Jimmy appeared as a guest alongside On-Brand co-host and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Bozoma Saint John.

Said Andy to his guests, “By the way, speaking of branding and on brand, Jimmy’s chili? I left for the show tonight, and I said to Ben, ‘Guess who’s on the show?’ I said, ‘Jimmy.’ He goes, ‘Tell. Him. To. Bring. Me. Chili.’”

Jimmy clapped at the revelation, though he wasn’t necessarily surprised. “I make the best chili; it’s so good,” he said. “There’s layers to it. There’s, I’m gonna say the word ‘umami.’ Sure. If that’s the drinking game … I gotta say it. Umami!”

Surprisingly, Jimmy said his recipe included “a little” chocolate powder and fish sauce. “But if you don’t know what’s in there, it’s a good secret.”

Andy Cohen’s son, Ben Cohen, explains what he loves about his dad

Just before the unofficial end of summer on Labor Day weekend, Andy shared an adorable Instagram video from his Hamptons beach house, asking Ben about what he loved most about their peak season.

“You hanging out with us … and going to The Lobster Roll with us,” Ben answered, referencing the Amagansett eatery where Andy previously took his parents, Lou and Evelyn Cohen, during their summer visit to Long Island’s east end. Continued Ben, “And reading books to us.”

The proud single dad grew emotional over Ben’s sentiment, stating, “That’s been really good for me too, man; I love hanging out with you …Wow.”

One of the highlights of Ben’s summer was a surprise visit from Southern Charm’s Shep Rose, who taught Ben how to fish in the Hamptons. Andy noted, “It touched my heart. I was like, ‘This is very sweet.’”
