Big news for the Cohen family! Six-year-old Benjamin Allen Cohen just lost his first tooth, according to dad Andy Cohen.
The host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen chronicled the milestone from when Ben lost the tooth in the early morning hours of Dec. 3 to when the tooth fairy paid Andy’s eldest child a visit. Talking about the event later on his Sirius XM show, Andy Cohen Live, brought the father of two to tears and even had him break the fourth wall.
Andy described walking Ben to school following the tooth fairy’s visit. “You know, when you watch them go in somewhere, and you’re looking at them from behind with their big backpack? I burst into tears. I was sobbing in front of Ben’s school, looking at the pride that he had and how excited he was, and that that was his first tooth, and he’ll never have this again … I was sobbing down the whole street today on the way home,” he said.
Retelling the story, Andy began to get choked up, adding, “It was too much; it was too much for me.” Cohost John Hill recognized Andy was about to cry once again, offering up his awws.
Before the radio show taping, Andy took to his Instagram Stories, sharing a video in which he held up a little baggie containing Ben’s baby tooth. Ben — who could be heard out of frame — didn’t know how much the tooth fairy would bring, and Andy later published a poll for his followers.
Ultimately, Andy decided on $5 for the first tooth and a $2 bill for each tooth thereafter. He captured the moment Ben found the cash under his pillow.
“Five bucks!” the boy exclaimed, his father offering his congratulations and excitement. As Andy told him, “I heard the tooth fairy leaves, like, a lot for the first one, and then who knows what you get. We’ll see. That’s exciting!”
