Angel Pierce and Jerry Parkman’ Investigators have arrested two people for the murder of a missing man from Hinds County found dead on the Mississippi coast on Monday.
Cody Smith, 24, was reported missing in Hinds County in December. In late March, investigators learned that Smith was last seen further south, in Harrison County, and contacted the sheriff’s department there, according to WLBT.
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said their detectives conducted several interviews related to the case and were eventually led to a wooded area in Pass Christian, where they found remains believed to belong to Smith.

They have charged Angel Pierce, 19, and Jerry Parkman, 24, with first-degree murder. Pierce was arrested at her home, and Parkman was served at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he was being held on an unrelated charge.
Pierce and Parkman are being held without bond, WLOX reported.
After a search by multiple agencies, remains believed to be those of Smith were found.
Upon further investigation, investigators determined that Angel Pierce, 19, and Jerry Parkman, 24, were responsible for the death of Smith.
Arrest warrants were obtained and Pierce was taken into custody by Harrison County Investigators at her home.
Jerry Parkman was served at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center due to his being incarcerated on an unrelated charge
Investigators say they expect more arrests. No further information was released.
