Even though Dara Huang quit mid-filming on Ladies of London: The New Reign, she made a brief comeback to address the fallout with longtime friend Myka Meier.

Ahead of their meetup in Episode 3, Myka admitted that she was “in shock” and “embarrassed” after castmate Missé Beqiri revealed that Dara had spoken negatively about her behind her back, despite their 24 years of friendship. Regardless, Myka agreed to sit down with Dara to give her the opportunity to tell “the truth.”

Dara began the conversation by claiming, “As far as, like, me talking s–t to Missé, I feel like that was deeply miscommunicated. It’s really just not that big of a deal. I think what’s a big deal is that she had to say it in front of all those people. That’s what the issue is.”

Myka disagreed, however, replying, “I was not only shocked, but I was so hurt. And I was like, the person that I would’ve wanted to lean across the table to hug to be like, protect me, was the person that they were saying these things were coming from.”

Amid their back and forth, Dara continued to deny saying anything about Myka “directly to” Missé, and the two never quite resolved the conflict.

“Dara’s just denying and chilling and looking at me like, ‘Don’t believe these people.’ But I believe Missé,” Myka declared in a confessional. “I’ve come to this table to find out what the authentic story and truth is here, and it’s only denial, defensiveness, and deflection: the three magical D’s.”

After their sit-down concluded, Myka further told a producer, “I have known Dara since we were teenagers. And so, if this is the end of our friendship, I am gutted. You know, if a friendship doesn’t bring kindness and love into your life, then why do you have it? Life’s too short, you know? I’m– I’m done.”

Where Myka Meier and Dara Huang stand today

Following Ladies of London‘s two-episode premiere on March 5, Myka stopped by the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Clubhouse with an update on their friendship status today.

When host Andy Cohen asked if she had spoken to Dara since the dinner during which she quit the show, Myka revealed, “Yes, we did. We had a kind of come-to-Jesus moment together. And then after that, never again. Never again.”

Though Myka also confirmed that Princess Beatrice’s role as stepmom to Dara’s son Wolfie is, indeed, “as big of a deal” as Andy imagined it to be, she denied that her former friend’s connection to the British Royal Family played any part in her decision to leave the show.

“No, I think it had nothing to do with it,” Myka opined, before offering her own theory on Dara’s abrupt departure. “I think people saw the real her. I think she got caught in a really bad lie, and there was no way out of it — and she realized that. It was like a trapped animal, and they panic. And then she quit.”

A brief timeline of Myka Meier and Dara Huang’s friendship

As Myka and Dara previously revealed on Ladies of London, they met more than two decades ago when they both attended undergrad programs at the University of Miami.

From there, their stories began to diverge. By Myka’s account, their friendship “has always been pretty strong,” but Dara claimed in an Episode 1 confessional that they “weren’t super close” in college.

Post-graduation, Myka moved to New York, while Dara continued her architecture studies at Harvard University.

“Fast-forward, we’re both in London,” Dara added. “We met back up. We still weren’t that close.”

She continued, “Myka looks up to me for business. I feel like she’s still really trying to find what it is that will bring her success, and she’s not quite there yet.”

When Missé’s accusations came to light in Episode 2, however, Dara told the group, “Myka’s my sister.”

As Myka, meanwhile, concluded in a producer interview, “I have cried more times about Dara than I’ve ever cried about anything in my life. … I feel like I lost a family member, I lost a friend, I lost trust. My friendship with Dara is not ever going to be what it was.”

In the meantime, go inside the explosive dinner that led Dara to leave Ladies of London: The New Reign.
