Are Steven McBee Jr. and Calah Jackson together or not? While the McBee family has been fishing for hints about the future of the on-again, off-again couple’s relationship during Season 2 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, producers also clamored to get an answer during Episode 4.
On the July 21 episode, Steven and Calah seemed to be on good terms following their most recent split, with Steven even inviting her on an upcoming family getaway. Naturally, producers wanted to know if there was more to the story. “Honestly, are you and Calah sleeping together still?” a producer asked Steven during his confessional. The McBee Family Farm CEO just smiled, laughed, and sheepishly replied, “Ummm.”
While he didn’t give a straightforward answer, the two were definitely getting along. As they met up to share a meal, Steven had a big smile on his face upon seeing Calah, hugged her, and commented, “You look amazing.”
Still, Calah had hesitations about going away with Steven and his family.
“It just makes me a little nervous,” she admitted. “I don’t want any drama to happen. If I go down there and people are being a—holes to me, like, I’m leaving.”
Ultimately, she decided to join the vacation. Later in the episode, they packed up and drove to the Ozarks together.
“Calah and I have had a really good week, and this is our opportunity to just relax,” Steven confessed, and admitted he had a weakness for Calah. “When you have a hot blonde standing in front of you, I’m all about it.”

Steven McBee and Calah Jackson’s relationship history
Calah and Steven split earlier in the season, mostly because of Calah’s rocky relationship with the members of Steven’s family.
“Steven and I have been through a lot of ups and downs,” Calah said in Episode 2. “We’ve gone through a lot together, but we love each other, and the only times we’ve really had major issues is when other people get involved.”
Following their breakup, the duo reunited in Episode 3 when Calah attended Cole McBee and Kacie Adkison’s party to reveal the sex of their baby. The sudden appearance at the party confused Steven’s family, after Calah had previously called Cole and Jesse McBee “hillbillies.”
“I am surprised to see Calah at the gender reveal. I mean, we thought they were broken up,” Steven’s mother, Kristi McBee, said in a confessional in the July 14 episode. “We know how she feels about us all. And so it’s hard to pretend like we don’t know.”

By the time the family caught up together in the July 21 episode to plan a vacation to The Ozarks, Jesse demanded answers.
“You and Calah just friends still? Or broken up?” he asked, while his mother chimed in, “Like you both agree with this [break-up]?”
Steven insisted he and Calah were on the same page as exes, but then threw everyone for a loop when he suggested he’d invite Calah on the vacation.
“Well if she’s not your girlfriend, why would she come?” Jesse’s fiancee, Alli Ventresca, asked, and Steven answered, “Just to hang out with everyone.”

Kristi also mentioned her reservations to Steven after what happened between her and Calah at the reveal party.
“You didn’t have the darts being shot at you like I did,” she complained, but Steven insisted “there won’t be drama.”
When Kristi asked him if he could “guarantee that,” he admitted he couldn’t.
“Their relationship has definitely affected all of us,” Kristi said in her confessional. “Like, we are all exhausted. They always get along really well when they’re supposed to be breaking up. So then, the breakup never really happens, and we all notice it.”

Steven later met up with his father’s ex-girlfriend, Brooke, during Episode 4, and the two discussed Calah.
“I’m starting to see maybe the McBee men are a little bit of the problem,” he admitted in his confessional. “In my own situation with Calah, maybe a lot of the toxic issues that we’ve had actually stem from me and what my actions have been. Some things, honestly, I regret.”
