Ariana Biermann Addreses Kim Zolciak, Kroy Biermann’s Split

Ariana Biermann admits it’s hard to stay neutral amid her parents’ divorce.

How to Watch

The Next Gen NYC cast member opened up about her struggles during a recent interview with People magazine, more than two years after her mom, Kim Zolciak, and dad, Kroy Biermann, called it quits. Ariana told the outlet she felt caught “in the middle” of her parents’ contentious divorce and suggested she started taking a side as the legal “battle” waged on.

Has Ariana Biermann taken sides in Kim Zolciak & Kroy Biermann’s split?

“I’m trying to find my way still in the middle of it without disrespecting anybody or making anybody upset,” she said. “But I think it gets hard at times, and unintentionally, you can be going more towards one side than the other when they’re fighting the kind of battles that my parents are going through right now.”

Kim and Kroy first filed for divorce in May 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage. The ex-couple reconciled a few months later, only to file again in August of 2023.

“I think it sucks for anybody experiencing their parents going through a divorce,” Ariana continued. “I love my parents’ love. I know people have a lot of opinions about it, but it was really such a pure, honest love. They acted like they fell in love yesterday up until, of course, the end… I think it’s just really sad overall, and it’s been a tough couple of years.”

Ariana Biermann explains how her parents’ divorce changed their family dynamic

Kroy adopted Ariana and her big sister, Brielle Biermann, in 2013. He and Kim also share four biological children: 14-year-old son Kroy Jagger “KJ” Biermann, 12-year-old son Kash Biermann, and 11-year-old twins Kaia and Kane Biermann.

Although the divorce hasn’t been easy for Ariana’s family, the Atlanta native managed to find at least one silver lining: It strengthened her bond with Kim and Brielle. She touched on the development during her June appearance on Gia Giudice’s Casual Chaos podcast.

“I feel like it’s just really made me stronger,” she said about Kim and Kroy’s separation. “And, in a way, this whole situation of everything brought me and my mom and my sister closer. And we’re kind of like the three best friends, which I’m really grateful for. And I think I’m still even learning how much [the split is] contributing to who I am, because it’s still going on. My parents’ divorce is nowhere near being done.”

Ariana Biermann says her mom and dad “took” her money

Ariana shed more light on her family dynamics in the series premiere of Next Gen NYC (June 3), claiming Kim and Kroy “took” all the money she earned from sponsored content.

“I started posting on Instagram. I got my first brand deal when I was 14,” Ariana said in an episode interview. “I was doing like three posts a week. You can get paid astronomical [amounts] to do a story or to do an Instagram post, and I made quite a bit of money…  Unfortunately, my parents took my money.. I can’t say exactly what [Kim and Kroy] used it on, because I just found out that it was gone two years ago. I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period. Nobody was honest. There was no transparency. And I have no idea where it actually went.”

Ariana said she continues to give her mom cash to this day to cover the costs of miscellaneous home expenses; however, she later clarified that Kim always paid her back.
