Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix shows no signs of stopping as her career continues in the world of movies and TV shows.
She revealed at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas that she would scrub in as Dr. Emerson in the NBC sitcom St. Denis Medical, the ex-girlfriend of surgeon Bruce, played by Josh Lawson. She told a live audience, “You guys, I’m a cardiothoracic surgeon, so if anybody needs a triple bypass, you just let me know. I play one on TV, so it’s, like, basically the same thing, right?”
Panel host Kate Chastain of the Below Deck franchise said Ariana, as the host of Love Island USA, should be well-prepared given the Hearts on Fire challenge featured in the reality dating show. She joked it was akin to medical school. “It really prepped you,” Kate added.
“It really did, yeah,” Ariana continued. “’Cause that’s what’s giving medical… ish.”

The episode with Ariana’s guest appearance will air Monday, Dec. 1, and director Eric Ledgin is already singing her praises. What’s more, it sounds as though she’ll appear in more than one episode.
“Ariana’s just a pro. She is an actor who happens to also be successful as a host,” Ledgin teased in a Nov. 2 interview with The Wrap. “She’s fantastic, and she’s coming back for a couple more this season, past that first one. I might not be allowed to tell you that, but I just did.”
Ariana Madix’s acting history in movies and TV shows
Bravoholics were first introduced to Ariana when she started as a guest in the first season of VPR back in 2013, becoming a main cast member in Season 3 as the girlfriend of Tom Sandoval. However, she already had a few parts as an aspiring actress under her belt, but none that yielded much of a career, as she explained in a June 2023 interview with Glamour.
“I was doing acting stuff, but I couldn’t push past whatever [I needed to] because I didn’t have legitimate television credits or anything to be able to move into the next level,” she said.
Her acting credits include roles in Dads, Anger Management, and Waking Up with Strangers, according to her IMDB profile.
Following Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, she found massive success, not just as the host for Seasons 6 and 7 of Love Island, but as the star of Broadway’s Chicago. Soon, she’ll host Season 2 of Love Island Games.
