It’s a new year for Vanderpump Rules alum and Love Island USA host, Ariana Madix, and she’s looking forward to big things in her ever-expanding career.
Soon after making her debut on NBC’s St. Denis Medical, the former SUR bartender told E! News that she wanted “more hosting, more acting” on the work front following a successful 2025. As she put it, “I want to get back on stage, and honestly, I just want to keep traveling the world with my love.”
Ariana attended the Golden Globes’ Nominees Night party on Jan. 8, as hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and Spotify, sharing space with a host of A-list actors, including Saturday Night Live comedienne Amy Poehler. She was especially delighted to be within earshot of the actress, given that Ariana wanted to take her career further into comedy.
“I mean, Amy Poehler’s here,” Ariana said, “and I literally have been falling asleep to [Parks and Recreation] for like the 10th time. So, I felt like I manifested … I heard her voice, and I was like, ‘Am I dreaming?’ No.”
In the meantime, fans have “a couple more episodes” of St. Denis Medical to look forward to, Ariana teased.
Everything to know about Ariana Madix’s role on St. Denis Medical
The Bravoleb dished on her role as cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Emerson — the ex-girlfriend of St. Denis Medical surgeon Bruce, as played by Josh Lawson — at BravoCon 2025. With the sitcom already well into its second season, Ariana’s role was slated to continue past her initial guest appearance, as previously teased by show director, Eric Ledgin.

“Ariana’s just a pro,” Ledgin said in a Nov. 2 interview with The Wrap. “She is an actor who happens to also be successful as a host … She’s fantastic, and she’s coming back for a couple more this season, past that first one. I might not be allowed to tell you that, but I just did.”

Adding to her on-screen balancing act, Ariana served as the host of Love Island Games’ second season last fall, a project that had her back in Fiji (where Love Island USA is filmed).
“When it is really busy, I think, like, ‘Wow, I really wish I had a vacation,’” she said in a Sept. 27 interview with The New York Times. “But then when I’m on a vacation, even if I have a few days off to myself, I start not knowing what to do with myself, and I start feeling bad.”
Back on the West Coast, she and former Vanderpump Rules castmate, Katie Maloney, continue to run their West Hollywood sandwich shop, Something About Her.
