An Arizona man shot his daughter and two young grandchildren to death last week before finally taking the gun to himself.
Pima Police, assisted by other agencies, found four dead at the home on October 16. Justice Jones and her 8- and 10-year-old children were dead at the scene, along with her father, 64-year-old Duane Michael Jones, Gila Herald reported. The gun was still in the murderer’s possession when police arrive.
Family member Brenda Flores said Justice Jones was 31, KPHO reported. She identified the children as 10-year-old Kyle and 8-year-old Tyme.
“I just hope that all of them … I hope they were asleep, and no one had to see anything happen to the others and didn’t have to experience any type of fear before it happened,” Flores said.
Flores said she had no idea what caused Jones to turn to murder before offing himself but the family assumes he must have had mental issues “because anyone with a sane mind, this isn’t something that you’d do.”
