
DIXON, Ill. (TCN) – The suspect in an attempted murder was located wearing a wig while allegedly fleeing on a bicycle, according to authorities.
WTVO reports that on March 21, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic dispute involving a man and his girlfriend. An investigation began, and the following day, an arrest warrant was issued for 42-year-old Christopher Lindsley on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated domestic battery (strangulation), and aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm.
On March 23, at about 3 a.m., he was spotted by police near a bridge. He was on a bicycle and was reportedly wearing a wig in an attempt to disguise his appearance. When police tried to stop him, he allegedly fled.
He was taken into custody soon after. In addition to the other charges, was charged with methamphetamine possession, according to WTVO. WREX reports that he made his first court appearance on March 23 via a video call from jail. According to Shaw Local, Lindsley’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 1.
