A Georgia woman was charged with murder in Saturday’s death of a 2-year-old boy who was reportedly mauled by her dogs.
Unlicensed daycare owner Stacy Cobb, 48, was allegedly napping when Kaimir Jones went into her backyard and accessed a kennel which housed two rottweilers. The two dogs attacked Jones, who died at the scene, according to WSB-TV.
Valdosta police accused Cobb of leaving Jones unattended for more than two hours on Saturday before the deadly incident. Cobb claimed she believed Jones was napping as well, according to WCTV.
Jones was reportedly the only child in Cobb’s care on Saturday, but cops said she usually had ten children in her care at a time.
Cobb was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. WJBF reported that the two rottweilers and a third dog were seized from the home.
Additional charges are forthcoming as detectives continue to investigate the incident.
