As Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Joe Bradley boldly denounced people who cheat in a confessional, a producer swiftly called out his recent kiss with Kizzi Kitchener amidst Victoria “V” SanJuan’s absence.
The subject arose during Season 10, Episode 13, while Joe was unpacking his past issues with Gael Cameron, who returned to Below Deck Med to fill in for V as a temporary deckhand while she recovered from an illness off the boat. As Joe explained to a producer, he didn’t like that Gael previously was “playing with” Nathan Gallagher while simultaneously texting her boyfriend back home, during Season 9.
“I still don’t trust her,” Joe declared. “She’s cheated. I lose a lot of respect when people cheat. You know, once a cheat, always a cheat.”

That’s when the producer chimed in to say, “Not to be too harsh, but what about what happened with you and Kizzi?”
After stopping and restarting his response multiple times, Joe pointed out what he perceived to be a stark difference in the two situations.
“I’ve got some element of regret, but kissing Kizzi, it’s not even in the same realm,” the lead deckhand elaborated. “Gael is a cheater, but I’m actually a single man. So, how can you put me as a cheater? That’s very different for me.”

Even if Joe apparently didn’t consider his and Kizzi’s flirting and late-night lip-lock to be cheating, he still acknowledged that a difficult but necessary conversation with V was imminent.
After letting Max Salvador in on his “little secret” that he’d kissed Kizzi while he was “drunk,” Joe opened up to the deckhand about why he planned to come clean to V, upon her return.
“I’m gonna tell her because I’m a man, and I don’t hide nothin’,” he said. “I just don’t want to hurt her. ‘Cause it’s only a drunken kiss, at the end of the day, you know?”

Kizzi, meanwhile, had encouraged Joe not to tell V what happened, but she was still starting to experience some major guilt, nonetheless.
After all, her onetime fellow stew was both celebrating her birthday and marking the anniversary of her boyfriend’s death while sick and alone in a Barcelona hotel room. To make matters worse, V had been texting Kizzi to check in and saying how much she missed everyone.
When Chef Josh Bingham asked Kizzi if she’d heard from V, she admitted, “I hate myself.”
Kizzi elaborated in a confessional, “At this point, I’m sure everyone knows I kissed Joe. On a boat, there’s, like, no secrets ’cause the walls have ears. So, for the next day, I just want to pretend that V doesn’t exist, so that I can, like, get through it without feeling like s–t.”

Elsewhere on Below Deck Med‘s Dec. 22 episode, Joe mentioned how Gael had previously blasted his Season 9 love triangle with fellow yachties Elena “Ellie” Dubaich and Bri Muller.
“Gael and I, we’re not in a good place,” he said. “[There are] multiple reasons. I don’t know what it is about, but I think she doesn’t really respect me …. ’cause of what I’ve done to, like, the girls and stuff.”
So, when Gael asked what the deal was between him and V, Joe appeared to downplay the situation.
“It’s, like, a little boatmance going on. It’s well out of [my] comfort zone,” he told her. “Do you know what it is, Gael? She’s giving me relationship vibes. Like, I’m just not ready.”
In a confessional, Gael referenced “snake” Joe’s aforementioned Season 9 drama: “I mean, I’m not a hero, but, like, f–k me,” she vented. “How many people have you got to hurt? He’s like Cupid, but with TNT on the end of his arrow.”Â
