Ben Robinson has shared more insight into his working relationships with Kate Chastain and Daisy Kelliher.
The award-winning chef addressed the topic during a BravoCon 2025 panel hosted by Kate, the former Below Deck chief stew Ben had worked with on multiple charter seasons. At one point during the sit-down, Ben was asked how Kate differed from chief stew Daisy, whom he worked with on the upcoming fourth season of Below Deck Down Under.

“Well, she’s incredibly different to you,” Ben told his longtime friend Kate. “She’s very different to you.. She’s not quite as sassy as you, you know?”
Kate took a few beats and determined she was not offended by the answer. In fact, she took it as a “compliment.”
“I think our sassiness gels quite well, you know? You and I,” Ben told Kate.

The UK-born chef then touched on some of the tensions he experienced with Daisy on BDDU. As seen in the explosive Season 4 trailer, the yachties got into a heated exchange in the galley before Daisy referred to Ben’s behavior as “outrageous.” Ben alluded to the altercation during the BravoCon panel, insisting he and Daisy were now on good terms.
“I really enjoyed Daisy. She doesn’t take a lot to heart,” he explained. “We moved on pretty quickly after our rouse.”
Ben then referred to his past tensions with Kate, reminding the audience just how far they’ve come since their Below Deck days.
“We did, too,” he said about his and Kate’s speedy reconciliation. “Maybe another day for us or something, sometimes, you know? Kate loves a grudge.”
“The only thing I love more than a grudge is revenge,” Kate added. “So that’s always fun, you know?”

Ben jokingly told the crowd that Kate is “good at playing the game and keeping you in the dog house for a while.”
“I’ll forget what you did, but I will never forgive,” Kate said in a cheeky tone. “Forget but never forgive.”
“That’s a good motto,” Ben added.
Ben Robinson reveals how he landed a job with the BDDU crew
Elsewhere at BravoCon 2025, Ben revealed how he ended up joining the BDDU cast following his appearances on Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean.
“It was very serendipitous,” he said about working for BDDU’s Captain Jason Chambers. “I had no idea that I was going to go back. Apparently, the [original] chef actually dropped out. He quit on the airplane, is that right? Planes will do that to you, apparently. I just stay on boats for a good reason. And I was available.”

Once he secured the BDDU job, Ben decided he’d get to know his new boss, Captain Jason. So, what did he do? He took the Australian-born captain to an American chain restaurant inspired by the Land Down Under.

“I took Jason out for lunch, actually, just before he flew out to the islands,” Ben said at BravoCon. “And I took him to the Outback Steakhouse, right? And he was quite horrified by it. He was like, ‘Why are you taking me here, mate?’ And I was like, ‘Because it’s the only Aussie place I know.’ But after a couple of cocktails, he forgave me. We’ve been [getting along] swimmingly ever since.”
