A female’s body has been found amid the search for missing Maryland teen, Dacara Thompson.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, the body was found “in a grassy area off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County on Sunday.”
Dacara, according to her parents, disappeared on August 22 after telling her father, Daniel Thompson, she planned to go get gas for her vehicle. She was last seen that day at her father’s home in Lanham.
Daniel Thompson said she sent him a text at 11:50 p.m., telling him, “I got gas & I’m out. I should be back soon. I love you too. Goodnight
“She just said I’m going out. I’ll be back,” he told WUSA9.
Her vehicle, a 2013 white Ford Edge, was found Saturday at the intersection of Jasmine Terrace and Riggs Road, in Langley Park.
“It was very unusual because I have never known her to come to this area,” her mother, Carmen, said, according to NBC4 Washington. “We’ve never discussed anything about ever coming to meet anyone over in this area. We don’t know anyone in this area.”
“The preliminary investigation has revealed a possible connection to the PGPD’s missing persons investigation. At this time, the identity of the deceased woman has not been confirmed,” the police department continued.
“Investigators are also awaiting autopsy result from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. The PGPD is working jointly with Maryland State Police on this investigation.”
