Body of Riley Strain Found in West Nashville River – Crime Online

The body of a missing University of Missouri college student has been found in the Cumberland River in west Nashville.

Nashville police made the announcement about two hours after the body was located in the river in the city’s The Nations neighborhood.

Police Chief John Drake said the body was still wearing the distinctive black and white shirt he was wearing when he disappeared, as well as his black Apple watch.

“There are no signs of foul play at this time,” he said.

Drake said the body was discovered by an employee of a company adjoining the river who called the fire department. He added that crews were intending to search that area of the river later today.

An autopsy is pending. The body was found about 8 miles from where Strain went missing in downtown Nashville.

The 22-year-old Strain disappeared on March 8 while out with fraternity brothers during a conference in Nashville. Strain was asked to leave Luke’s 32 Bridge bar, owned by country star Luke Bryan, who said without providing details that his “behavior” violated standards, as CrimeOnline reported.

His fraternity brothers stayed at the bar after he was escorted out, although one followed him downstairs to the front door before returning to his other friends. They reported him missing nearly 16 hours later.

Luke’s 32 Bridge said they served Strain one alcoholic beverage that night, but there were reports that he and his friends had been to at least two other bars before arriving there.

Strain was seen after leaving the bar in security footage and on a Nashville police officer’s body camera footage.
