Bones Found During FBI Search for Travis Decker, Accused of Killing 3 Young Daughters – Crime Online

Bones were discovered Thursday during the ongoing manhunt for Travis Decker, a man accused of killing his children earlier this year.

According to a report by The Wenatchee World, investigators discovered bones in Chelan County, Washington, while conducting their ongoing search for Decker, 33.

He’s sought in connection to the deaths of his three young daughters earlier this year.

“The bones were found during the grid search by one of the 100 personnel … it was inconclusive at the time if they were animal or human, so it was sent off to Central Washington University in their anthropology department to do a confirmation,” Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison told the outlet.

“We certainly have not lost sight of the importance of this case, what it means to not only the family, but to our community … we are trying our best to make sure that this does not just disappear and fade away into memory.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the Wenatchee Police Department said officers then discovered 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker dead near the Rock Island Campground on June 2.

Police suspect that Decker killed them during a planned visitation and then fled.

DNA analysis confirmed that the former Army soldier is the only suspect in the gruesome crime.

All three girls had plastic bags over their heads — two of the girls had two bags over their heads and the third had three bags. DNA collected from the bags belonged to their father, or to the girls themselves.“

The completion of this DNA analysis provides additional evidence that indicates Travis Decker is the only suspect involved in committing these homicides,” the sheriff’s office said.

Morrison added that the FBI would be returning in a few weeks to continue the search.
