BOSTON (TCN) —Â A Boston firefighter charged with multiple counts of child rape has been released on bail following his arraignment.
James Corbett, 60, is charged with one count of trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child 14 or over, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and two counts of rape of a child.
He was arraigned Nov. 12 in West Roxbury Boston Municipal Court and has been released on $25,000 bail, WHDH reports.
Corbett pleaded not guilty to the charges, Boston.com reports.
He stands accused of assaulting a minor female over the course of six years, between May 2018 and September 2024, according to WCVB.
The victim reportedly told officers Nov. 4 that the abuse began when she was 11 or 12 and escalated, including being forced to shower while Corbett watched, according to Boston.com. She also alleged Corbett sent her money through CashApp and gave her access to his Amazon account, WCVB reports.
Corbett is on home confinement with GPS monitoring and is barred from contact with children under 16. He must surrender his firearms and passport. According to WCVB, Corbett was placed on administrative leave from the Boston Fire Department.
His probable cause hearing is scheduled for Dec. 22.
