Brittany Cartwright Clarifies Mommy Makeover Amid Concerns

Brittany Cartwright is clarifying the details of her recent mommy makeover surgery.

It started with an Instagram Story in which The Valley cast member shared news about the operation, which left her bandaged and attached to post-surgical drains. The newly single mom reported “feeling better every day” following her “huge surgery,” and showing improvement after getting the drainage tubes removed from her body. Said Brittany in the original post, “I had my tubes removed today, and it went so much better than I thought; it was hardly any pain. I barely felt anything at all.”

She continued, “I feel so free, and I feel so much better. It’s crazy how much better I instantly felt with having the tubes removed.”

But what apparently confused some was a matter of wording. Based on a follow-up Instagram Story, followers believed Brittany referred to her fallopian tubes. She said, “to clear up any DMs” she’d received, “I’m obviously talking about my drains (tubes). I’ve been calling them tubes because that’s what they looked like lol,” adding a kissing-face emoji.

On the Oct. 10 episode of her When Reality Hits podcast, Brittany took fans’ questions about the surgery she underwent sometime before posting pics of her recovery on Oct. 5.

With the help of Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour of the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, whom Brittany called “the best doctors in Beverly Hills,” Brittany said she “couldn’t be happier” with her customized mommy makeover.

Although patients can often choose from a potpourri of procedures that would fall under the all-in-one surgery to help bring women back to their bodies before giving birth, Brittany chose a tummy tuck (which typically consists of liposuction), breast implant replacement to accommodate a smaller cup size, a breast lift, and abdominal reconstruction.

On the podcast, Brittany was transparent about her body image issues since giving birth to her and Jax Taylor’s only child, 4-year-old son Cruz Michael Cauchi, which included stretch marks and diastasis recti, a common occurrence from pregnancy in which the abdominal muscles become separated.

Said Brittany during the recovery process, “It’s not easy. I will say the first couple of days, the first three or four days were terrible. I look at it as the pain is temporary, but the surgery is life-changing. So I 100% think it’s worth it. I would definitely do it again … I’m still in pain, not going to lie.”

Details on Brittany Cartwright’s past plastic surgeries

The mommy makeover was the latest of several cosmetic surgeries Brittany has been candid about over the years.

First, on Season 4 of VPR, Jax insisted that Brittany get “triple D” cups modeled after Peter Madrigal’s then-girlfriend and introduced her to his plastic surgeon. Later, on the series premiere of The Valley, Brittany debuted with her head wrapped in a bandage, recovering from chin surgery to remove her “turkey gobbler.”

Last year, after filing for divorce from Jax, Brittany tried AirSculpt — a less-aggressive form of a tummy tuck — to address postpartum insecurities around her mid-section.

Brittany Cartwright reveals she is single amid mommy makeover recovery

On the aforementioned podcast episode, Brittany revealed that she and rumored boyfriend Brandon Hanson are no longer an item.

“We actually did not last. We were very good friends before we started dating,” she revealed. “It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would have wanted it to. We still care a lot about each other. It ended amicably, but I just cannot do the long distance.”

The longtime Kentucky friends had known one another for 15 years, and Brittany recently said he was still navigating her life as a public figure. However, with the three-hour distance between them and Brandon’s responsibilities as a working father of three, they decided to call things off, even if they still “really cared about each other.”

“Hopefully, we can remain friends, but it’s just something I didn’t see that was going to be able to continue in the future,” Brittany said.
