Brittany Cartwright Details Her “Mommy Makeover” Plastic Surgery

Get ready, world. Brittany Cartwright is upping her “sparkle.” The Valley cast member declared this in the latest episode of her When Reality Hits podcast, where she spoke candidly about her recent cosmetic procedures.

Brittany hinted at her plastic surgery on Sunday, October 5, when she revealed her stomach bandages and two surgical drains. She later confirmed she had received a customized “mommy makeover,” but kept the details surrounding the procedure under wraps… that is, until now.

Brittany told fans she “went to the best doctors in Beverly Hills,” Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour of the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group. The Vanderpump Rules alum opted for liposuction, a tummy tuck, a breast implant revision, a breast lift, and abdominal reconstruction.

“It’s not easy. I will say the first couple of days, the first three or four days were terrible,” she admitted. “I look at it as the pain is temporary, but the surgery is life-changing. So I 100% think it’s worth it. I would definitely do it again… I’m still in pain, not going to lie.”

Brittany admitted she had wanted a “mommy makeover” for quite some time, having struggled with insecurities following the birth of her now-4-year-old son, Cruz Cauchi. The Kentucky native said she was particularly unhappy with her abdominal region, as she had been diagnosed with diastasis recti — a common pregnancy condition that occurs when the ab muscles separate and cause a visible bulge. Brittany acknowledged that diastasis recti could improve on its own after pregnancy, but there were some cases in which surgery was the only remedy.

“They basically pulled all of my skin back from my stomach, and they completely put everything back in place,” Brittany explained. “So they put my abs back in place. They put everything back in place like it was before… So that is extremely painful and a tough recovery. But I could already tell such a difference. I could look down, and my stomach doesn’t stick out like it used to.”

Brittany said she was also self-conscious about her breast size, so she had the doctors remove her implants and replace them with smaller ones. She suspected she would be “a full C or small D” once the swelling went down.

“They took out some of my breast tissue to help make it look smaller, as well,” she said. “And I got a lift. So my boobs are perky. They are beautiful… It is a huge difference, and they look amazing.”

Why Brittany Cartwright postponed her “mommy makeover” for years

Brittany said she held off on the surgery because she wasn’t sure if she would have any more kids, but decided to go through with the procedure after filing for divorce from Jax Taylor.

“I’m not against having more kids in the future. It just doesn’t seem like something that’s going to happen for me right now,” she explained. “Whenever I was still married to Jax, I definitely wanted another kid. That was part of our plan, and, obviously, that did not work out.”

She continued: “If I don’t have more kids, I’m not going to be so upset. I’m so happy. So content. Cruz is everything to me. He is amazing.  I love my life… So why should I wait any longer on getting my mommy makeover when it’s something that I really, really wanted to do?”

Brittany reiterated she had “lost a lot of [her] confidence” during her marriage to Jax, but believed the surgery was one of many steps toward restoring her self-esteem.

“I thought this was perfect timing,” she said. “I think I deserved it, and I really wanted to do it for myself. And I couldn’t be happier with my decision… I wanted to feel good on the inside and the outside. After everything I’ve been through, I feel like I deserved it. I wanted to do it for me.”
