Brittany Cartwright loves being a mom to her 4-year-old son, Cruz Cauchi, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Jax Taylor. But, The Valley cast member is trying to get some things in order in her dating life before she has more kids.

Brittany appeared on her podcast, When Reality Hits, on July 12, where she admitted that she has been spending a lot of time around babies lately. This includes her friend and cast member on The Valley, Kristen Doute’s new baby, Kaia Lilly.
“I just love kids,” she admitted. “I don’t think that I want a baby right now or anything. But golly, it’s hard after you’ve had a kid and you’re around the cutest little babies.”
“Every time I’m around baby Kaia, too, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I missed this phase.’ You forget how fast everything happens, and Cruz is four now,” she continued. “I know it would come back to me, but it’s just so crazy how much you forget how little they are and all the little things you have to do. How much they sleep, how much they want to eat. I mean, goodness gracious, but I loved every second of it.”
“It is the sweetest thing ever,” she added, admitting that she has “baby fever,” but she needs to “find” a man “first.”

But, she is trying to date amid her separation from Jax. “Dating after being separated and going through a divorce is so weird,” she admitted. “It’s not the easiest thing ever.”

She noted that she ignored many red flags in her relationship with Jax, but has since become a little more nitpicky when it comes to dating. “It’s just like, you notice so many little things because the red flags and stuff I have to watch out for,” she added. “I don’t want to be in another situation like I was and just ignore, ignore, ignore because I try to always see the best in people, and you always think somebody is going to change.”

So, she’s taking a different approach this time around when it comes to dating. “I’m trying to do things differently and I’m definitely taking my time, going very slow, and still single, still trying to figure it out,” she said.

“Working on myself is a priority,” she admitted. “Just me and Cruz, being with him every single day, like he is the love of my life. So just trying to get things right for myself and hopefully my divorce will be final soon, and it will feel like a whole different chapter in my life is going to open up.”
