As promised, Scheana Shay’s newly released memoir delivered bombshell revelations about her career and personal life — the most shocking of which centered around her husband, Brock Davies.
In the days leading up to My Good Side’s release, Glamour published an excerpt about Brock’s 2020 affair. The piece, of course, made countless headlines, as Scheana had never revealed Brock’s infidelity on any of her platforms. The Vanderpump Rules alum admitted she had reservations about including the affair in her memoir and only provided “vague” details in an early draft; however, Scheana ultimately rewrote the chapter after Brock encouraged her to be more candid.
Brock Davies urged Scheana Shay to be honest about his infidelity
“I read the first draft out loud to him, and he was like, ‘Absolutely not. That is not going in the book,’” she recalled in an interview with E! News. “And I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ And he goes, ‘If you’re gonna put it in the book, tell the whole story.’”

In My Good Side, Scheana detailed the conversation in which Brock confessed his infidelity. The moment went down after they filmed the Vanderpump Rules Season 10, as the cast was dealing with the aftermath of a major cheating scandal.
“Brock and I sat down to watch the latest episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” she recalled in her book. “Right before I pressed play, Brock told me to put down the remote because he needed to talk to me about something important. I thought he was joking at first. But then I noticed his face was serious, and my heart began beating against my chest…
“Brock said that with all of the fake news being published, he was afraid that something that actually was true might surface, and it was best that I heard it directly from him,” Scheana continued. “My whole body froze, and I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with [their daughter] Summer [Moon Honey Davies].”
How did Brock Davies react to Scheana Shay’s candid memoir?
Scheana told People magazine that Brock didn’t read the final draft until recently, as he didn’t “want to steer [her] one way or the other.”
So, how did the New Zealand-born dad react to the chapter about his affair?
“I think he didn’t realize truly how hurt I was and how much I was struggling until he read it,” Scheana said. “That was hard for both of us. There’ve been quite a few tears the last couple of weeks in the Davies house, but ultimately, we had a very heartfelt, tearful conversation.”
Scheana, who legally married Brock in 2021, discussed her memoir during a surprise appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, explaining how the book impacted her marriage.
“I assume that you had many conversations with Brock about including that in the book,” host Andy Cohen asked in the July 22 episode.
“None…. I’m kidding,” Scheana said with a laugh, before revealing how long Brock’s affair lasted. “It was a short span. I mean, it was a less-than-a-month thing. It was more than once, but it was short-lived before our gender reveal.”
Scheana Shay didn’t address her marriage issues on Vanderpump Rules
Andy questioned why Scheana never mentioned her marital issues while filming Vanderpump Rules Season 11, which marked the original cast’s swan song.
“At the time, I wasn’t ready to process it, to face it… I needed more time,” Scheana explained. “I needed to figure out: Am I strong enough to stay? Am I strong enough to leave? What am I going to do? And I was just protecting my daughter and figuring out what our next step was.”
Andy asked Scheana if she trusted Brock after his admission.
“I do,” she quickly replied. “And call me naive, but after two years — almost two and a half — since I found out, I do trust him again.”
