Bronwyn Newport opened up about her husband Todd Bradley’s emotional affair during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5, but she’s now expressing her regrets about being so open about it.

In case you need a refresher, Bronwyn admitted that Todd had been unfaithful while they were married (more on that down below) during the cast trip to Puerto Vallarta on RHOSLC Season 5, Episode 14. Although Bronwyn went on to later clarify the comments she made about Todd’s infidelity, she told Us Weekly in a new interview published on Oct. 15, that she wished that things did not go the way that they did.
“I really felt I was connecting with the women in Puerto Vallarta when I was talking to them about issues that Todd and I have had in the past. I think they knew then — maybe some of them still don’t know — me sharing something is not natural for me,” she explained. “I have to really trust somebody. That was me putting in a lot of trust in them, and I wish it had gone differently.”

Bronwyn also admitted that sharing personal stories like that one, as well as watching herself fight with her castmates, has been hard on both Todd and her daughter Gwen. “My husband and daughter are always very critical of my choice to be on reality TV,” she explained. “It’s so hard for Todd to watch me argue with the women and let it go. Sometimes the husbands don’t rebound as quickly as we do.”

But, Bronwyn said that some viewers have enjoyed watching her share her story about her pregnancy with Gwen and her complicated relationship with Gwen’s grandparents. “People have reached out to [me and Gwen] and said, ‘I grew up in a family that was X or wasn’t this,’ or ‘I didn’t know my actual biological parents til this time in my life,'” she explained. “And it’s been so great to feel like people resonate with our story or see themselves in parts of it.”

During the cast trip to Puerto Vallarta, Bronwyn admitted that Todd had been “unfaithful.” “A couple of years ago, we were on a trip and he was texting someone on his iPad and Gwen went to say something to him and Gwen saw it over his shoulder,” she explained. “So, Gwen came to me, and I confronted Todd.”
Bronwyn then admitted that she did not blame Todd for his actions, and revealed he apologized shortly after. “I adore Todd,” she added. “I live and breathe by what Todd says to me.”

During a Dec. 18 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Bronwyn further explained that Todd did not cheat on her. “A lot of it was a misunderstanding, we have different boundaries,” she said.
“Todd never did anything physical with anybody, it wasn’t this big affair,” she added. “It was really I was uncomfortable with how much he was talking to somebody who was very flirty with him. What I was trying to tell the ladies that night is I’m insecure. I take things really personally. It’s hard for me. I wish I hadn’t.”

Todd also addressed this during Part 2 of the RHOSLC Season 5 reunion, where he admitted to not watching the episode. “We talked it out…It’s hard to watch,” Bronwyn noted.
“Anything that Bronwyn had shared would be more than I’d want her to share,” Todd confirmed.
