VENTURA, Calif. (TCN) —Â A 12-year-old boy has been arrested for assault in connection with the beating of a motorcyclist.
The boy was allegedly part of a group of nearly 200 other juveniles on bikes and e-bikes, according to KTLA. The group allegedly surrounded a motorcyclist who was stopped at a red light on April 4. He was knocked off his motorcycle, and police said he was kicked and punched by several of the group members before they allegedly fled.Â
The group was still in the area when police arrived. Officers arrested and booked a suspect into custody at Ventura County Juvenile Hall after a witness identified him. KTLA reports his name has not been released due to his age.
The motorcyclist was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No one else has been arrested in connection with the incident, KTLA reports.
