California Woman Found Dead on Her Property a Week After Missing Persons’ Report Filed – Crime Online

A California woman reported missing by her husband last month was found dead a week later — on her property.

Hiroko Nagao’s body was found by her husband, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

The husband told deputies that he left home at about noon on October 23 and when he returned that day, his 51-year-old wife was nowhere to be found, although her personal items were still at the home.

He called the sheriff’s department and reported her missing.

It’s not clear how much searching the sheriff’s department did, but she was not found until October 31, when the husband reported finding her body “on the property.”

The sheriff’s department, which did not report the death to the public until Monday, 10 days after the body was found, said that its “homicide detail” had assumed the investigation and that they were waiting for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.
