The Real Housewives of Potomac alum Candiace Dillard Bassett seems to have her hands full with her and Chris Bassett’s 10-month-old son, Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett, but in the cutest possible way.
The musician, who just landed a role in Dennis Williams’ I’ve Cried the Blues, posted a few rare glimpses into the lighthearted challenges of motherhood, proving that the playful struggle of mom versus baby was real. In two snaps on her Instagram Stories, she captured the bottom half of Jett as he teared away at his own diaper. Candiace added “Bruh” over the photos to best convey her reaction.
Later, she posted a separate bird’s-eye view of the wavy-haired boy as he sat on the wooden floor. Wearing a white tee with prints of light-colored animals, Jett showed his mom that he wouldn’t soon give up on his determination to go bottomless. This time, Candiace wrote, “We still doing this. Lol.”
Candiace Dillard Bassett describes “horrifying” health scare after baby’s birth
Candiace’s capability to handle such little adventures is small potatoes in the world of motherhood. Just two days after welcoming her first child into the world in October 2024, the first-time mom experienced “horrifying” abdominal pain and a series of fevers. All she could think about was her son, she told Entertainment Tonight.

“Honestly, I felt like, ‘Could I die?’” she confessed to the outlet. “That was my greatest fear. If I die, he will never know his mom. I would lay in the bed in pain holding him (Jett) and cry… I had a blood clot in my ovary that was causing me a lot of pain. I had to be on blood thinners for eight-10 weeks. It was scary. It was really intense and too much reality. I just wanted to have a baby.”
Continued Candiace, “You’re in such a mom cloud you don’t think about your own health, but you have to remember to check in with your body and listen to your body because you just never know.”
How Candiace Dillard Bassett’s husband Chris is handling being a father to baby Jett

In an April exclusive interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, the former Housewife said she knew her husband of seven years would be a wonderful father to Jett because he was already “amazing” to the three children he had from previous relationships.

Candiace previously feared all the pressure would fall at her feet, but “[Chris], literally, is like, ‘Give me the baby. We’re going over here… The bottles are gonna be made like this. We’re gonna wash them like that.’ He buys him toys and diapers. He’s in charge of formula. He has designated his task. He’s like an army soldier. He knew exactly what to do.”
