Captain Jason Chambers Details RHOSLC Cameo & Life Today

Captain Jason Chambers is sharing new details on his appearance in the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

In the RHOSLC Season 6 trailer above, the Below Deck Down Under captain can be seen making a brief cameo appearance.

Jason is standing in front of a yacht as he addresses the cast of RHOSLC Season 6, who are about to embark on a charter.

“Ladies, we’re going to get you nice and wet, and get you in the water,” Jason says to the women, as chief stew Daisy Kelliher and Chef Ben Robinson stood beside him.

“The other way around,” someone can be heard saying behind him.

“Yeah, the other way around,” Jason said, as the women laughed.

Jason then took to his Instagram Story after the trailer was released, where he teased what’s to come from the RHOSLC and BDDU crossover. “What a kickstart to a season,” he wrote over the reposted trailer. “[Heather Gay] what happens onboard stays onboard, no receipts!”

Bravo’s official Instagram account previously teased the crossover in April, posting a photo of Ben, Jason, and Daisy alongside RHOSLC cast members Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas. “Below Deck Down Under Season 4 just started filming a first-ever Real Housewives crossover charter featuring the full cast of [RHOSLC],” read the caption of the post.

Captain Jason Chambers reveals why he’s “so grateful” for his daughter, Saskia

When Jason isn’t manning mega yachts or wrangling in some Real Housewives, he is being a devoted father to his daughter, Saskia, who lives in Bali. The dad of one took to Instagram earlier this week, where he shared a video of Saskia scuba diving and exploring a coral reef.

“I’m so grateful my little one shares this passion with me and not only that, she is an absolute fearless and inquisitive mermaid,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “Many more adventures ahead with this amazing girl.”

Earlier in the month, Jason took to Instagram, where he revealed that he had celebrated Saskia’s birthday at a villa with her mom and a bunch of her friends. “Happy Birthday Sassy,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

“Mum and team did a fantastic job seeing out the birthday with a PINK COWBOY POOL PARTY,” he added. “Organic skincare making lessons, great cake and foot btw and the water fight? Well, let’s say, I was picked on a little bit by them all.”

Is Captain Jason Chambers single?

“I don’t think the time has ever been right,” he added. “I needed to give a lot of time to my daughter over the last few years.”

“The relationships I have had have been long, and they probably shouldn’t have lasted that long,” he continued. “I’m starting to realize why I’ve gone into those relationships. I’m probably trying to create something but not be 100 percent myself. So, I have put a pause on dating for quite some time because I haven’t had the time to bring someone else into my daughter’s [life].”

Captain Jason Chambers shares an update on his health today

Jason has also been very open about his battle with melanoma. In December 2024, Jason revealed that he had been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer. And during a February appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he shared some “good news” in response to his diagnosis.

“On Christmas Eve, the doctor rang me up and said ‘Listen, we’ve just got to do one more cut out, but it should be [a] five percent chance of it not returning.’ But it really, well, gee, it shocked the hell out of me,” he admitted.

During a post to Instagram in June, Jason reflected on his journey with cancer. “Now, I had melanoma last year, and the anxiety that that brought on, well, if it wasn’t for my community around me and all my friends supporting me and family, you know, that could have been a hell of a lot,” he said in the video posted to his account.

“I just had a good friend and a cousin go through a hell of an experience and they got through it just because of their friends and family and strong will,” he continued. “Now, if you have got cancer, please don’t be too brave. Pick up that phone, and ask for some support.”

Where Captain Jason Chambers stands with BDDU Season 3 crew

Jason still keeps in touch with some of the crew members from BDDU Season 3 like Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. In an interview with The Daily Dish in May, Tzarina shared that she is still close to Jason.

“I spoke to Jason about an hour ago,” she said. “I just feel so honored to have worked two seasons with him. And I’m sure we will catch up again in person for some tapas and too much wine.”

Lead deckhand Harry Van Vliet and steward Brianna Duffield also told The Daily Dish that they remain in close contact with Jason. “I talk to Jason almost every day,” Brianna explained. “He became a mentor to me and has pushed me in my career. He has become a dear friend. I even got to see him on my trip to Bali.”

Harry also still talks to Jason. “I am always in contact with Jason,” he said. “We love catching up for a call together and talking about what we have both been up to recently. I am looking forward to having a beer with him next time we bump into each other.”

BDDU Season 3 chief stew Lara Rigby told The Daily Dish that things are better than ever between her and Jason. “We have a great, great friendship,” she said. “I actually spoke to him a couple of days ago; we were in Los Angeles together at one point, so yeah. It’s nice. I really respect Jason and think he’s a great captain.”
