Below Deck‘s latest out-of-control charter guest went overboard in more ways than one — pushing Captain Kerry Titheradge well past his limit.
Upon boarding St. David during Season 12, Episode 9, the co-primary’s friend, Kelly, overindulged in champagne, and the crew noticed that she had quickly become visibly intoxicated. Kerry instructed Fraser Olender to “keep an eye on her” and to suggest a glass of sparkling water instead.
When her behavior continued to become increasingly erratic, however, the captain informed one primary, “I’m gonna have to cut off Kelly. She’s had too much to drink.”
The situation devolved into a safety hazard when Kelly, who had broken away from her group and demanded a solo banana boat ride, refused a life vest and ignored the captain’s instructions by leaping from the tender into the Caribbean near Saint Martin.
“Her jumping in the water right now, that’s a big f–k you,” Captain Kerry said in a confessional, emphasizing the importance of both her and the crew’s safety. “When I ask you specifically not to do something and you go right against what I say, we’ve got a friggin’ problem.”

She eventually got out of the water but continued to be combative — both verbally and physically — with the crew, as they attempted to usher her back inside the vessel.
“Alright, you’re off the boat,” Captain Kerry finally declared, later noting that she had “scratched” him in the scuffle.
He looped in the primary that Kelly was “getting very aggressive” and “not listening,” but even she was not able to calm her friend. Then, when Kelly “threatened” Kerry with FBI “connections” in her family, he’d had enough and ordered her back to her cabin.
“I’m not gonna take any threats from anybody,” he replied. “Kelly, who you know doesn’t matter. There’s one authority on this boat, and it’s me.”
In a confessional, Captain Kerry added, “I’ve tried every avenue to calm her down. Her friends aren’t talking her down; she’s tried to attack me; she’s threatened me; she’s extremely drunk; she could fall and hurt herself; she could drown. I’m gonna do what it takes to keep her safe.”
Captain Kerry Titheradge calls the police on his charter guest
Inside the wheelhouse, Kerry called the dock master to request police assistance, describing a “guest that’s very drunk and getting violent” that he needed to get “off the boat.” He, then, told bosun Hugo Ortega to pick up the two officers on shore in the tender and bring them back to St. David.
In the meantime, he tasked deckhand Damo Yorg to monitor Kelly until the French authorities arrived.

“All crew, we gotta keep this guest contained to inside the vessel,” Captain Kerry announced on his radio. “She’s not allowed outside the vessel under any circumstances.”
Kelly’s friends then made one last attempt to get her to comply and leave the yacht on her own volition and “sleep it off” for the night on shore.
“If you resist, the French police will arrest you and detain you,” Kelly’s friend warned her, just before a “To be continued…” graphic appeared on screen.
More details on the “very drunk” Below Deck guest’s behavior
Based solely on preference sheet photos prior to the charter commencing, Barbara Kulaif correctly predicted that Kelly would be the “problem child,” while Fraser noted “several red flags.”
Before she even boarded the vessel, Kelly — who announced she was “trying to drink it all” — had already requested champagne and then continued to order glass after glass once aboard.
While Fraser gave the new guests the grand St. David tour, Kelly grew louder, scoffing at the possibility of needing a life vest and criticizing the hot tub’s temperature. During lunch, even her friends referred to her as a “trainwreck” as she argued with both them and the crew alike about everything from her rowdiness to her alcohol “tolerance,” in addition to tearing apart the table’s centerpiece.
After Rainbeau de Roos notified Fraser that Kelly requested more champagne, but could “barely hold herself on the chair,” the chief stew spoke to Captain Kerry, further noting that she could “barely hold her glass.”
Later during the banana boat debacle, Kelly, who’d already been cut off from any more alcohol at that point, shouted, “I could care less about your stupid yacht,” as she taunted the crew to “chase” her as she swam away, insisting that she could do whatever she wanted to do.
While Captain Kerry and his deckhands attempted to get her back inside, she continued throwing out obscenities. “I hate everybody!” Kelly yelled at both the crew and her friends. “So what, I jumped in the water? So what, I had a couple drinks? Is that a problem?”
