Carl Radke Reveals He’s Training for NYC Marathon 2025: UPDATE

Carl Radke has officially become an “annoying running guy.” The Summer House cast member is four years into his sobriety from alcohol and has now found a passion for running.

Carl took to Instagram earlier this month, where he posted a video of his “running fit check” during his morning run in NYC while training for the New York City Marathon. “116 days until the marathon so I’m continuing training,” he said after sharing that he had run eight miles.,

“I’m afraid I’ve turn[ed] into the annoying running guy,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

Carl has been taking the marathon preparation very seriously, taking to Instagram weekly to show off his running outfits and shoes that he has been trying out for the marathon. He even shared that he now has a running coach, Kara Dudley, to help him train for the marathon.

You really can tell just how excited he is about his newfound hobby and exercise journey. The marathon is set to take place on November 2.

In June, Carl took to Instagram, where he posted a selfie of himself, mid-run, by the water. “145 days until the [NYC Marathon],” he wrote in the caption of the post.

Carl Radke reveals he ran his first half-marathon

Carl completed his first half-marathon in April of this year, when he ran the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon. He took to Instagram at the time, where he posted a photo flashing a peace sign, after making it across the finish line.

“First BK half marathon in the books sub 2 hours,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “[Wheels] by [Hoka] and a massive thank you to all the people in Brooklyn streets cheering on. I heard you and appreciate you!”

Carl Radke opens up about his running journey

During a May appearance on The Zac Clark Show podcast, Carl opened up about his newfound love of running. “It’s been really exciting to actually realize I could run even a half marathon,” he admitted.

“I kind of crave the runner’s high,” he continued. “I used to crave other highs back in the day. But this one, especially, there’s something about, I don’t know… I feel like I’m confident, more confident, I’m more happier. And I don’t always feel that way pre-run.”

Carl Radke shares new updates on his business, Soft Bar

In addition to training for his first marathon, Carl is also working to open his non-alcoholic bar and café, Soft Bar, for mindful consumption. He recently revealed that the business’ opening is “planned for August,” which he is super excited about.

“I am learning a lot about certain things in this arena,” he told Vulture in June of his new spot, which he described as “a cool place that you can go any time of day.”
