Phoenix, Arizona – Fans of the late right-wing political commentator Charlie Kirk were seen taking selfies in what appeared to be a replica of the tent he was assassinated in.

In a recent segment from MS Now covering AmericaFest 2025 – the annual multi-day conference put on by Kirk’s organization Turning Point USA, which is currently going till December 21 – journalist Brandy Zadrozny reported that “people are taking selfies” with a “recreation of the tent” Kirk was doing an event under back in September when a gunman fatally shot him in the neck.
“You can see all around, people are saying like, ‘For Charlie.’ They’re wearing replicas of the shirt that Charlie Kirk was wearing when he was killed,” Zadrozny said, referencing the influencer’s popular “Freedom” shirt.
Photos shared around social media show fans lined up to snap photos alongside two enlarged photos of Kirk, one of them from the day he died, and a large ring light.

Some Kirk fans were not fond of the gimmick. In an Instagram post, one attendee said they “couldn’t do it” as it “just didn’t feel right for me.”
Michael Flynn Jr. – the son of President Donald Trump‘s former national security adviser of the same name – said in an X post that the replica was “disturbing” and “disrespectful,” adding that there were “better ways to honor his memory in my opinion.”
