“Cheer” star Monica Aldama’s 27-year-old son has been indicted on 10 counts of child pornography in Texas.
It’s the second child porn scandal to hit the Netflix series after another of its stars, Jerry Harris, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a conviction in 2022.
Austin Aldama was arrested and released on bond in Navarro County on January 18, according to TMZ. His release included a requirement for random drug testing, voluntary searches of his phone and computer, and a ban on viewing any pornographic images.
According to court documents, the charges include videos depicting children under 10 engaging in sex acts.
TMZ said that Monica Aldama had not replied to their request for a comment. She said when Harris was arrested that she was “shattered” by the allegations and that “Our children must be protected from abuse and exploitation.”
Last April, a former student sued Monica Aldama, claiming she covered up a sexual assault by a teammate, Page Six reported. She denied the claims, and the lawsuit was dismissed in November.
