Chick-fil-A Maintenance Worker & Mom Subdue Killer Who Murdered Delivery Driver – Crime Online

A brazen stabbing attack at a suburban Chicago Chick-fil-A restaurant early Wednesday morning left one man dead and second with serious injuries.

The suspect was subdued by the injured victim and his mother until police arrived and took him into custody, Oswego Police reported.

Police said they were called at about 5 a.m. and arrived on the scene about four minutes later, finding the wounded victim — a contracted maintenance worker who had been power-washing the outside of the building when he was attacked — holding down the suspect.

When officers entered the building, they found a second person — a delivery driver — dead inside. Surveillance video showed the suspect breaking into the building through a back door and stabbing the delivery driver, who was already inside, shortly after 3 a.m. The victim’s identity has not been released, nor has the suspect’s.

The wounded victim was identified as Sergio Uribe Jr., who was with his mother when he was attack.

“I was trying to get him away so he couldn’t hit my son anymore,” Uribe’s mother told WMAQ.

Uribe was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and by Wednesday evening was said to be in stable condition, police said.

“We are grateful for the actions of these two individuals, whose efforts to restrain the offender and call police directly led to the offender’s capture,” Oswego police said.

Police said they were still investigating a motive for the attacks and that the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office would determine charges to be filed.
